Chapter 8 - Sharp Tongue

Okayyyy! Another chapter! So summer is over :( year 11 time now, hard to believe I'll be 16 this academic year, time does go by.. anyway, this one is a quick one really, I wanted to get one out before I was bombarded with work :( enjoy!

- (Ludwig's POV) -

Walking down the stone steps, I approached the dungeons. I wonder how she is.. no one really survives mentally in this dungeon, with it being haunted.. wait, is she sleeping?

I walked closer to her cell to see her white dress slightly starting to turn grey. Her head was tilted down and I could see her tiara had tumbled onto the floor. In a way, I felt pity. I shouldn't have put her through this... but I also don't, for means of revenge against the mushroom kingdom.

I grabbed the keys and fumbled with them. I eventually found them and unlocked the cell. After unlocking, I got in there and closed or behind me, locking it. I waited for her to wake up.

- (Y/N's POV) -

Mmmm... where am I? Why does my neck hurt horribly? My neck felt incredibly stiff as my eyes fluttered open. I must have fallen asleep. In a chair.. wait, a chair?! I don't remember this.. do I? I groaned and lifted my head up.

My limbs hurt. I tried moving but then remembered that I was tied up. Oh yeah, I was kidnapped. Is this what Peach goes through? I looked in the corner of my eye to see a familiar tuft of blue hair.

- (No one's POV) -

Ludwig stood in the corner, not leaning against the dirty walls as to not ruin his shirt. He watched the dazed princess wake up.

"How long does it take for you to wake up?!" He asked in an annoyed tone as he watched her eyes roll from consciousness. She shook her head, and looked at him, black mascara marks down her face and red eyes due to tiredness and her crying.

"Doesn't h-help that you have a r-rope around me cutting off my circulation! I could die!" (Y/N) replied, her voice scratchy and irritated, not like her usual voice. Ludwig seemed a bit shocked at her response, and he slowly walked over to her. He put his fingers under her chin, forcing her to look at him. His face was inches apart from hers, and her face started to adorn a light pink blush on her face.

"I would watch that sharp tongue of yours, Princess. That causes trouble around here. Just because you're a princess doesn't mean you can rule everything, because.." he leant in closer to her ear "you have no authority here." He said, smirking and pulling away, seeing the horror and worry flood her face. She had felt her blood run cold inside her, fully realising how powerless she is.

She couldn't say anything, she didn't know what to say as a matter of fact. She was terrified. Terrified of what'll happen to her. Is this what Peach deals with?! She thought to herself. Ludwig had to admit, he felt bad for the girl. She didn't deserve this, but plans are plans. Ludwig stood back up, keeping his distance from the broken girl.

"You've got two more days left, Princess," Ludwig said, but then realised, "or should I say, prisoner." He laughed, not a joyful laugh, but a laugh filled with sarcasm and evil. She looked at him, tears welling up in her eyes again as she made eye contact with him, his steel grey eyes locking with her (E/C) ones.

"Am I going to...die?" She asked him, her voice breaking as she thought about never seeing her friends or sister again. Ludwig looked at her, feeling a little guilty, and walked over to her once again. He leaned down and put his hand on her shoulder. She's freezing! He thought to himself. He looked at her with a straight but somehow reassuring face.

"You're not going to die, Princess. This is just a test, I promise." He said, his tone quite paternal to her. Tears fell from her face again, but she nodded her head. Ludwig stood up straight, clearing his throat. "I'll be back later, don't even attempt to escape. It'll be much more trouble than it's worth." He said darkly, before unlocking the cell door and walking through it, locking it and leaving the dumbfounded princess to her own devices.
