Accidents happen, people always say. Accidents happen, no matter how big or small they are. And it can be down to just the most common question in history:  Are these accidents part of this big cosmic story for all of us predetermined by a Higher Being? Or are we merely the creators of the life we lead and the things that we do affect the world that we live in one way or another?

But then again, most of us do not really stop and ask ourselves that question. Most of us would not busy ourselves asking if there really is Fate and if we will leave all the rest to our destined paths? We just keep moving—just like the fish that swim in schools underneath the sea, and the sun that rises and sets for us every day. We live and we breathe.

Living and breathing would have been easy. Continuing our daily routine and business would have been likewise. We would not have to worry with what or who brings us these obstacles that come our way to irk us and prevent us from living life so smoothly.

However, when we are faced with an event that would threaten our existence or the existence of the ones that matter to us dearly, along with the reasons why we live the lives we have, it’s hard not to question, why on earth do we have to suffer? It’s hard not to wonder why the sequence of events that occur in our lives happen the way they happen. It’s hard not to ponder of what could happen tomorrow or the day after that when we have suffered such a terrible loss or tragedy.

Accidents happen, people always say. Accidents happen, no matter how big or small they are. Nevertheless, it would have been much better if these accidents that come our way are just the little accidents that we don’t even notice because of how little the impact they leave us. But not all accidents are as small as dropping your cup of coffee or putting the wrong ingredient on the food that you are preparing. No. There are worse accidents that happen all over the world with just one blink of an eye and you are considered lucky if these “worse accidents” didn’t happen to you.

But what if it did happen to you? Would you question the goodness of the Higher Being you believe in? Would you question your own doings and believe that all of these are just a series of consequences after consequences?

Most people would cringe over the casualties brought by such an unfortunate event. Some people would grieve. Some would feel anger, hatred, or point their fingers to someone they could possibly blame. But no matter how gruesome or cruel that mishap was, as time would progress, most would eventually learn to accept what once had taken place, take that mishap as a step to take another view on life and maybe even start anew.

Accidents come in all shapes and kinds, and how people handle these accidents also vary. And with that being said, there is no denying that an accident would probably be where this story began. It can also be that an accident would have been what triggered the series of events that are about to be narrated.

So it has been said no matter who we are in this world, no matter how big our dreams and hopes may be, there will always come a time when life would strike us unguarded and unaware. But should you just mope around the corner and cry for the rest of your life? No. Because there’s still light, a single flicker of light in the darkness, and that light will guide you.

Life isn’t easy, but things won’t always be as hard as they seem to be. There is still hope. Things are bound to get better. And so I leave you with this story -- a story of a girl who lost probably one of the most important things in her life and how she got it back.

Live your life. No regrets.
