Testing

I wake up to someone tugging on my shirt. I stretch, falling off the 'bed.' I hit the ground with a thud. I groan and sit up, rubbing my back. I hear worried voices. I rub my eyes.

"I'm fine. Just.. sore. I'll live." I state. I look up to see Gaster and the boys. I snap my fingers and my tattered clothes are replaced with the cloth. I flip Gaster off. "What do you want?"

"It's time for more tests." Gaster states. He grabs me with blue magic and drags my pouting body out. I look at him and stick out my tongue. "We are going to try to isolate the healing aspects in your eye so we can fix Subject 2." I glare at him as he straps me to a chair.

"Why?" I ask. He ignores me and goes back to setting up the laser.

"We will only use the eye socket that you have. Not the one that has an eye ball." Gaster continues.

"My eye socket only glows on certain occasions. My eye actually glows when it is supposed to." I explain.

"Nice to know. I will add that into my calculations." Gaster thanks. He types a few buttons. "Now, look forward or I might mess up." I sigh and look forward. A blast of light hits my eye socket and my vision turns white. I feel pain in my eye socket. The pain lasts a little. My vision clears. I close my eyes. I hear silence. I open my eye. Gaster stands at his station, speechless.

"What? Did I break something?" I ask. Gaster shakes his head.

"No, quite the opposite actually." Gaster finally states. I close my eye.

"How so?" I ask.

"You can fix his eye and you can heighten his Hope. Without him needing to gain Love." Gaster explains. I excitedly smile.

"Good. I'm tired, can I leave the chair now?" I ask. Gaster looks at me.

"Yes.. for now." Gaster states. He takes off the straps and helps me out of the chair.

"Thank you." I thank. Gaster's breathing changes. He places a bandage over my eye socket. I let go off him and walk back to the room. He opens the barrier and I walk in. He closes the barrier, walking away. "Hi, boys."

"Did he use the laser on you?" Papyrus asks. I look at him and smile.

"Yes." I state. Sans looks up at me. He has a patch on his broken eye. I sigh and pet his head.

"Are you okay? We usually need healing after we wake up." Papyrus asks. I look at him, confused.

"You guys fall asleep during the procedure?" I ask. Sans shakes his head.

"We normally pass out." Sans explains. I frown.

"Oh. What do you pass out from?" I ask. Sans shrugs.

"The pain, mostly." Sans states. I frown again.

"Well, apparently Gaster can fix your eye with my magic. Do you need healing?" I ask. Gaster walks up to the barrier.

"I mean I could use some healing." Sans states.

"Subject 2, I need you for testing." Gaster states. I stand in front of Papyrus.

"No." I grunt. Gaster grabs Papyrus with blue magic.

"I need to test his magic against yours. I need to test with him first so I have no errors that could hurt Subject 1." Gaster states. I scoff as he pulls Papyrus away.

"Wait!" I yell. He turns around and looks at me. "What subject am I?"

"You'll know when you get your plate." Gaster states, walking away. I throw myself at a wall.

"UGH!!" I yell. Sans runs to me. I grab my head, holding back tears. I look into Sans's eye socket. It is glowing. "I'm way too young to have these kinds of issues. I'm only 13!"

"Your glow is very soothing you now. It makes me feel safe." Sans states. "Even though I know I am not. I'm the brother that can die. The only reason I am around is because Papyrus took a liking to me." I hug him.

"I know you are scared." I empathize. "I can fix you. My magic can give you more Hope. You are going to fine. I have met the you in the future. You get out of this hell hole. You and Papyrus are happy."

"I have something to ask." Sans states. I look at him. "How did you get here and how have you been to the future?"

"I live in the future. I came here from there." I explain.

"You are from outside in the lab, in the future?" Sans asks. I nod. "Did Gaster send you back from the future to try to earn our trust?"

"No, Gaster does not exist in the future. You and everyone in the future have no memory of Gaster for some reason." I explain. Sans sighs on relief. Papyrus walks into the cell, cracked and beaten. "Papyrus!" Papyrus looks up at me.

"Who?" He asks weakly. I look over at Sans.

"Heal him." I order. Sans looks at me, worried.

"I-i don't know how! I.. i..." Sans stutters. I grab his shoulders and face him towards his collapsed brother. Sans takes a deep breath. He grabs Papyrus's hands. I force a steady magic flow into Sans. My hands starts to glow blue, purple and green. I sigh as my energy is slowly drained. Papyrus slowly begins to heal as Sans focuses. Beads of sweat fall down his face. I engage him in battle. His Hope is slowly rising.

"1/1.... 2/2... 3/3... 4/4... 5/5... 6/6..." I gasp out. My eye squints shut. Papyrus's eye sockets open. He pushes Sans away, sitting up.

"I'm okay now. I'm fine. You can stop." Papyrus states. I continue pushing myself. Both of my eyes and Sans's eyes are glowing.

"7/7..." I state quietly. Sans faces me.

"Izzy, stop!" Sans shouts. I shake my head.

"8/8... I'll stop.. at.. ten." I breathe out. "9/9..."

"Stop! You are scaring me!" Papyrus cries. I push myself for that last Hope point. I pull my hands off him and my hands stop glowing.

"10... out of.. 10." I sigh out, breathing heavily. I smile. Papyrus hugs me.

"Please don't scare us like that." Sans orders. I give a wry chuckle.

"Okay." I answer. Papyrus looks at me, thoughtfully. "What's wrong, Papyrus?"

"That!" Papyrus shouts, pointing at me. I look at him, confused.

"What?" I ask.

"You called me, 'Papurus'?" Papyrus asks.

"Papyrus. That's your name, right?" I ask.

"I am Subject 2." Papyrus states. He points at his brother. "He is Subject 1." I sigh and punch the wall.

"Your names are Sans and Papyrus. Not these.. stupid labels!" I shout.

"My name is, 'Sans' and my brother's name is 'Papyrus'?" Sans asks. I nod, looking at the ground. My hair is shading my face. "Who named us?"

"Your fonts. The way you speak is unique to each skeleton. It is your font." I state. Sans looks at me.

"So, your font is called, 'Izzy'?" Papyrus asks. I shake my head.

"No, my font is ____." I state.

"Why is your name Izzy?" Sans asks.

"That is the name my parents gave me. Though it is not my actual name, it makes me feel more comfortable." I explain. The boys nod in understanding. Then, the lights go out. I flop onto the ground. I fall asleep against hard surface.
