Dinner had rolled around and Malfoy had been absent all day. Whenever a student asked for the reason of his absence, the teacher just told them he was signed out for the day and to mind their own business. Only two people from which I knew, could 'sign him out'. Narcissa and Lucius. But, why would either of them sign him out? Did they need him to do something? Was Malfoy just taking a sick day? Was something wrong?

"You know," Ron started, breaking up the silence that surrounded us. "I'm glad Malfoy left. Even if it is just for a day." His eyes traveled over to the Ravenclaw table. "Plus, Jacob seems really nice. Maybe we should hang out with him or something."

"Yeah," Hermione added in, "it's been a lot quieter and calmer at school. And, hanging out with Jacob sounds like a great idea, Ron!"

A blush caressed both of their cheeks. They were so cliche it hurt.

"I don't know guys." I hated Jacob, he stole Malfoy from me, why would I want to hang out with him? "He seemed like a jerk when I warned him about Malfoy. Plus, doesn't it seem a little too quiet? You know, with Malfoy gone."

They both looked confused.

"What did he say to you?" She asked, ignoring my comment on Malfoy.

"Yeah," Ron added, also ignoring my comment on Malfoy. "he seemed alright when he came over to us yesterday. A little weird but okay."

'Weird?' I pondered my best friends word choice.

"Yeah, come to think of it, he asked a lot about your's and Malfoy's past." She placed a finger to her chin, "he even asked if at some point you were lovers."

"That is weird." I agreed. Too scared to tell them that I knew why he was asking those kinds of questions.

The doors to the great hall were once again opened. Though this time, they weren't slammed. Just gently pushed. Everyone's eyes averted from their food and to the door. In came Malfoy. He lifted his chin and slowly walked to his usual seat at the great hall. Boy did he have confidence because I knew for damn sure he heard the houses and even teachers talk about him.

They all had their different reactions. "There's Malfoy!" The Hufflepuff's exclaimed, "Ugh I wish he'd just leave forever!" Sighed majority of the Gryffindors, "Why did he leave in the first place?" Ravenclaws questioned, "Malfoy's back!" Slytherins cheered.

Though one Ravenclaw, in particular, was thrilled to see my Malfoy. Stupid Jacob even stood up and started clapping. Which lead to his whole house and the other two to clap as well. Hell, even the teachers clapped. But the Gryffindors? No. They refused to clap for him.

"Welcome back, Malfoy!" Jacob shouted to the pale boy.

Said boy's elbows were resting on the table. Malfoy covered his face with his fingers. I'm pretty everyone heard his agitated sigh.

"Sit down, Dubwa." He hissed. Obviously not in a good mood whatsoever.

"Okay!" Jacob complied, "I'm just so thrilled to see your beautiful face again!" That bastard sent roses flying his way.

Everyone, in every house, gasped. Some out of pure surprise. Others, out of envy. Thinking that they were together.

'The nerve of that fucker!' My fist clenched itself.

We all waited for Malfoy to respond. My eyes averted away from the grotesque monster known as Jacob Dubwa. Instead, they looked at the teachers' table.

Dumbledore smiled, probably thinking about someone he had fallen in love with at school. McGonagall's eyes widened, obviously not expecting that. Sprout looked as if she was about to vomit, not fond of the idea of two boys. Flitwick looked curious and way too into what was going to happen next. Snape, Snape looked pissed. Though when didn't he? But, this time, he wasn't mad at some Gryffindor. No, this time he was death glaring Jacob. Like he was an officer and presenting those roses was against the law.
