1. the mental and moral qualities distinctive to an individual.

2. a person in a novel, play, or movie.

One may ponder, "Who am I?" As they scavenge and search for definitive details that entrails a clue as to who they might be, or who they might become. And in commonly known scenarios, they may find themselves at a point in their life where they are most certain of their residing nature, only to discover that their findings are in prospect of a temporary indulgence we call, a phase. A common misconception that both adults and teenagers (like myself) are often subjected to, but in experiencing this phase assists us in the timely process of self discovery. By taking all that we grew fond of in these phases, and mending them to be more than just individual characteristics of a certain time in our lives to a characteristic of who we are; to build a foundation of character.

What is your (the reader) character? ...

Or may I ask, do you know your character?
As an ever growing teenager, I often have the urge to change, improve and adapt. To better myself for those whom I not only see in great value but for those whom I see that have great value. Does that make me insecure? Perhaps, but in respect for my own prosperity, it allows growth. The same growth it takes to be the person we all desire to be, whether that be a good thing or a not-so-good thing, this concept of growth we recognize as character building. To know what you want to be, in comparison to who you are now- the efforts it takes to get from point, "A" To point, "B" is the building of character. But in order to achieve such, you must admit to reconditioning, something we all may find difficult to do at most times. Similar to attending to your responsibilities at the worst of times, Like starting that research paper at 11:30 knowing it's due tomorrow morning. Times like those you just stop, gander at your pet and say out loud to yourself, "The joy of being a dog, not having to stress over matters such as these." Now little does one know that the response might be, "The wonders of being a human, not having to be kept in a cage." Perspective will intale appreciation for what we may see on one side.

Through these pages, you will encounter multiple characters you will have the pleasure in relating to. A tree, a dog, a person, even a rock. Whether you relate to them in a positive way or a negative way is strictly determined by how you read it, and the reader always reads what the reader wants to read. Keep in mind that though you aren't a celebrity, the president, a model, or an internet sensation, know that you aren't a tree, a dog, or a rock, but a person. A gift underappreciated due to its commonality, can easily be understood by embracing the fact that accidents can be undone, you're alive, and that's beautiful. Some of these stories may trigger sensitive events during your times or humorous ones you've experienced long ago. Either way, if this book caught your attention, dont think twice- I wrote this for you.
So before we begin, close your eyes and repeat after me:

To the troubled ones...
