Run Lucy Run!

The next day Lucy ventured to the library to print copies of the information she found last night.

Once she was home she placed the sheets into a file in her suitcase.

Tapping her fingers on her sofa she realised she had nothing to do until Zak got in touch with her.

This is going to be a long few days she thought to herself.

She reached for the tv remote.

From 6pm tonight... The channel announcer began.

Ghost Adventures night.

Oh thank God for Really? Tv. Lucy said outloud.

She was about to settle down when there was a knock at the door.

Detective Moss? Lucy said trying to hide her surprise. She could tell by the look on his face she wasn't going to like what he had to tell her.

Can I come in Lucy we need to talk.

Detective Moss was in charge of Lucy's case and worked tirelessly to make sure they caught him.

What is it? Lucy said as she sat in the chair facing the sofa where Moss sat.

He's out Lucy....

Lucy inhaled quickly and felt her hands starting to shake almost immediately.

What? How?

On good behaviour he was released an hour ago.

There must be a reason why you felt the need to come to my house this fast.

I have a snout on the inside he said that Carter was always boasting that it was his plan to get out on good behaviour and then track you down and finish what he started.

Panic rose within Lucy. All she wanted to do was feel Zak's loving protective arms around her. The fact that she knew that was no where near possible almost reduced her to tears.

Lucy you need to get out of here as soon as possible.

I'm leaving for the US in a few days

Lucy replied shakily but that's not quick enough is it?

Moss shook his head

Lucy thought about Skype Nick and Zak were a no go she didn't want to worry them also she knew exactly what would happen Zak would fly straight back over here and get sent down for murder himself.... There was one option. Aaron.

I could go on line and check for flights and I have a friend who could wire me the money.

She grabbed her laptop found a flight for early in the morning reserved a seat then explained the plan to Moss.

... So I will Skype him around 10pm taking into account the time difference.

Ok agreed Moss you're flight leaves at 7am I will spend the night outside in my car and then take you to the airport first thing.

Lucy then dropped the formalities.

Thank you Kev you have been a good friend through all this.

No problem just try and rest after you Skype your friend I will wake you at 5 In the morning.

Lucy waited till later and then Skyped Aaron

Hey Lucy it's good to see you! Aaron's voice faded a little when he saw the serious look on Lucy's face.

Aaron honey I need you to listen ok I need help!

Lucy explained everything.

So I will pay you this money back and you do understand why I don't want Zak and Nick knowing.
