The lights went out and a high pitched scream pierced the air. I took off in a run. Faster and faster I went, my long brown hair fluttering everywhere. Heavy footsteps were behind me. I had to escape. I couldn't end up like the others. Suddenly I tripped, and felt blood slowly began the drip down my knee. The footsteps drew nearer and nearer. I stood up and began the run, ignoring the throbbing of my knees. The darkness seem to be closing in, I felt my heart beating crazy as I ran, not knowing where I was going. That's when I saw a light, shining off in the distance. I ran as fast as I possible could towards it. You probably have heard "don't go into the light" and that's probably what some of you were thinking, but where else was I suppose to go? But anyways, the faster I ran, the faster the footsteps came, the smaller the gap became between us, the smaller the gap became between me and that "thing". The source of the light was only a few feet away. I made a desperate leap towards it, but something grabbed my ankle, pulling me back into the darkness. A large, heavy mass was slammed against my skull. I looked at the taunting light through bleary eyes, and with that, I drew my last breath.
