Two figures stand in a narrow trench before a hellish forest. An elderly man in white robes and boy of fifteen in a simple black outfit, gaze into the forest's stillness.
"Make camp here for the night, best rest up before entering the Holy Woods." states the aged cleric. The boy nods and unravels a knapsack, dropping several small sticks of drywood.
"Should last us an hour or so." says the boy tiredly.
As he begins to get the fire going the boy, seemingly annoyed, asks "We're soon to reach the Shrine, won't you let me know why you've dragged me along to visit those ancient friends of yours father?".
"Friends? Hmm not really.. Acquaintances rather. I've some things to discuss with 'em. Can't think of any real reason for you being here." chuckles the old man upon seeing the boy irritated.
"Don't fret, it should do you good spending some time away from home. Maybe you'll even make some friends here."
"Hmpf 'friends' never needed any, won't need any." he grunts.
"Ain't about necessity Evan. You've never needed any 'cause you've never had any, and why's that? You're far too arrogant for anyone to bear you." the man says in a serious tone.
"Bah whatever, I'm going to sleep."
"Rest well child. You'll need it."
