He gets in the car and we back out of my driveway.

"Let's see what kind of music Loser of the Year has, shall we? " He torments. I roll my eyes, not trying to add any fuel to his fire. "One Direction? Lido? The Cab? Who the hell is The Weeknd? Wow, your taste in music is horrible."

"Sorry that I don't listen to men rap about strippers and "booty poles" . I listen to music with messages and meanings. " Anger fills my voice.

"Babe, I don't only listen to rap. I listen to some punk and indie rock. " he clarifies. As much as I am surprised by his rare music taste, I let him know nothing of how I feel about it.

"How many times have I told you to not call me that? " I plug my phone into the sound system and press play on my playlist. The volume is increased to the maximum level.

"So your gonna try to drown me out? That's not happening. " He laughs while he turns the knob, decreasing the sound.

"Do you know this song? " I change the subject.

"King for a Day by Pierce the Veil. "

"This one?"

"Lithium by Nirvana"

"And this?" testing his knowledge one last time. Chris Brown blasts through my stereo.

"I thought you said didn't listen to Hip Hop? "

"No I said I don't listen to men rap about about strippers. He's talking about sex, " I laugh considering the song isn't any better than the ones I despise. I keep the song playing and after two minutes, we arrive at Dilly's.

He grabs a cart and I pull up my list on my phone. 5 isles down, Michael hasn't said one word. I can't help but to wander what's keeping him quiet. Glancing back, I see that he is staring at the ground while pushing the cart. He notices my eyes on him and he sucks his breath in. I feel my cheeks flush, so I look away. For once, he's being quiet just because he want to. Perhaps I speak too soon, for when I grab a box of Lucky Charms off the shelf, he begins to insult me.

"egh, not those. They simply have no flavor. Get this. " he picks up a box of Fruity Pebbles. I roll my eyes but allow him to put them in the cart. After all, that's my favorite cereal. When I pick Coke over Pepsi, he insists we get a twelve pack of Pepsi along with it's rival. He makes a disgusted noise as I pick up a box of K-Cups for my coffee maker. I try my hardest to ignore his childish remarks until we are check out.

"Hey, so me and some buddies are having a party tonight if you want to come. " he attempts to flirt with the blonde cashier. A stupid grin dances on her and her eyes light up at the sound of a party.

"I'd love to come! " she responds overly enthusiastic.

"The only problem is we don't have any alcohol and being underage, I can't buy any. " he persuades her. Is he really trying to get free alcohol!

"I can take care of that for you. BRB " she walks off and disappears into one of the isles. I stare at Michael with an anxious look. As if reading my mind, he tells me to calm down. The cliche cashier return with a clear bottle entitled Smirnoff. It isn't something I'm used to seeing, so when she brings it out, I'm confused as to what it could be. She hands over the intoxicating bottle of liquid with a smirk.

"Oh, vodka? Nice choice. " well that answers my question. We walk to the car with our cart full of stuffed white, plastic bags.

"Your not having another party in my house. " I tell Michael.

"I know, " he smirks, helping to put the bags in the trunk.

"So why did you tell h-" he cuts me off

"Lord, your such a virgin, " he astounds me with the word, "I lied to her to get alcohol. " he notices my bulging eyes.

"Wait, are you? " he asks. Surprised much?

"No! Well, yeah. Sorta. Why am I discussing this with you? It's none of your business what me and Hunter do. " I jab.

"You have a boyfriend? Hunter? What a gay name. " he falls into the passenger seat.

"He is definitely not gay. " I begin to fantasize about how my lips fit his like a missing puzzle piece. Sure, we have done some things, but we haven't gotten that far. There are good reasons behind why we haven't.

"Oh. Does that mean that he feels good? " he smirks, knowing what he's doing.

"Ew, stop! No! " I cover my ears.

"He doesn't? Such a turn off! " I ignore his attempt to unravel my anger. Michael doesn't care, though. He continues to mock Hunter and I's relationship. By the time we pull into ny driveway, I'm beyond irritated and can't take another word from his vulgar mouth.

"Shut up! We haven't had sex because I don't believe in sleeping around with five different people a week. You should really love someone enough to want to spend the rest of your life with them enable to share that intimate gesture. I'm not a whore and whether you are or not isn't any of my business. Just like Hunter and I's decisions and values aren't any of yours. So step the hell back. " I inhale and jump out of the car. I'm halfway to my room before I remember the groceries in my trunk. I peek out of the window and Michael is sitting the car still. I stand and watch him, wandering if he'll have the decency of getting the groceries. To my surprise, he reaches over and pops the trunk open before getting out. I didn't see that coming.

I hear Michael in the kitchen and the sound of rustling plastic bags. My phone begins to ring as I lay on my bed. Nicole's name pops up on my phone.

"I'm so mad at you. " I greet her call.

"Someone sounds enthusiast. "

"Don't play that sarcastic game with me. You made me go to the store with Michael! And most of time was spent arguing and fighting. He never stops and I honestly don't know why he treats me like that. What's wrong with me? " I begin to hyperventilate. My breathing quickens and breathes become shorter, my chest tightens.

"Babe, calm down. I didn't know this was gonna happen or I wouldn't have said anything. I'm so sorry. Nothing's wrong with you, though. He's just a dumb guy who hates any girl who doesn't want to bang him. Just close your eyes, count to 10, and take a deep breath. " Nicole advises me. I listen to her and follow her instructions. "Are you okay? " she checks.

"Yeah, I'm fine now. " I reassure her. A text comes through when I open my eyes

** You didn't call last night. What happened?

I totally forgot to call Hunter last night. After everything that happened, all I really wanted to do was go to bed, though.

*Sorry love. I'll call you in 2mins.

"Hey, can I call you back tonight? " I interrupt her rambling story.

"Yeah, stay safe. Love you. " she hangs up. My phone ring five seconds after. I answer and explain my forgetfulness. I relive what happened last night and Hunter's breathing becomes staggered. When I finish confessing, my cheeks are as red as as a tomato.

"Who the hell does he think he is? How are you just gonna let him get away with ruining your cloths, your mothers favorite carpet, and embarrassing you in front of all of those people! Shae, you have to start defending yourself. I know it's hard, with you being all kindhearted and sweet, and that's what I love about you, but people like that prick shouldn't matter to you. They have no hearts themselves so don't feel like your disowning God if you tell them how it is. " he preaches. I debate whether to spill about the journey to and from the store but I decide against it. Instead, I calm him down and tell him about how he helped bringing the groceries in. He sounds as surprised as I was. "Babe, still that doesn't make him some troubled man who changed for the better. Look, I have to go. Hang out after work? "

"Yeah, I love you. "

"I love you too" he reciprocates and the line goes dead.
