"Mom! Dad! I'm home! " I shout. Nicole stands beside me and we take our shoes off. We run up the stairs to my room and put our bags down.
"Shae! Can you come down here for a second? " I here my mothers voice call. I sigh annoyingly and walk downstairs, Nicole by my side.
"Oh! Hello Nicole!" My parents greet her. She smiles and I say, " you needed me? ". But I already know what it is, considering suitcases lay beside them. "Your already leaving? " I ask.
"Yes honey but that's not the only thing. " my father replies. An older couple come into view with their son. It's Michael. "Damn!" I curse under my breath.
"You and Michael are to stay in the house and take care of each other till we get back. " my mother instructs me.
"Ooh Shit! " Nicole exclaims. My parents look at her disapprovingly. "Sorry Mrs. and Mr. T," she apologizes.
"Now we left a couple hundred dollars and a emergency credit card on the kitchen table," my father informs us before continuing," no parties, no one over besides close friends. Two friends only. Got it? "
"Yes Dad. Now you can go!" They gather their things and walk out of the door, meeting the cab driver.

"So loser, time to party! " Michael unlocks his phone and hops on the couch.
"Didn't you hear my dad? He said no parties."
"And? You don't always listen to your parents, do you? "
"Ugh just clean up whatever mess is made. And everyone leaves at 1 am," I stomp up the stairs. I can not believe he's actually going to throw a party in my house, while my parents are gone, & after they said not to. I can't even believe he's staying here, in my damn house.
"Can we please get out of this house? I can't stay here with him. " I sigh, frustrated with his presence.
"Like where? We can't go to my house because of what happened last month. " Nicole reminds me of the horrendous event that caused my relationship with her mother to fizzle out.
"Red Mango? Perhaps with the group? " I suggest, just wanting to leave already.
"Yeah that's cool, and then a movie! I've wanted to see The Fault In Our Stars since I read the book last year!" Her eyes gleam with excitement. I pick up my phone and send a mass text to our friends.
"Let's just get out of here," I tie my converse and rush out of the front door.
We arrive at Red Mango six minutes after leaving my house and our friends are waiting for us to arrive. Hunter is leaning against his car conversing with Nate while Cameron is buried in his phone.
"How long have y'all been waiting?" I ask as I get out of the car.
"Not that- "
"Long enough! I want some froyo! " Cameron cuts him off. Cameron Irving everyone! He's always conceited and loves to irritate me, but he's like a brother to me.
"Shut up ass whip! " Nicole retaliates. We enter the frozen yogurt shop and began to fill our bowls with delicious creamery. We pile on toppings and then find outdoor tables to sit at. Everyone begins to chat about school and their weekends.
"What are you doing this weekend? " Nate asks me, noticing my absence from the flowing conversation. "Staying away from my house as much as possible. " I answer honestly.
"Don't you have the house all to yourself though? " Hunter asks.
"And Michael. He's staying there. "
"Has he tried anything? " Hunter tenses up and I place my hand on his bicep. It relaxes under my touch.
"No sweetie, I just don't want to be within 10 feet of him. "
"Well what are you gonna do? " Cameron asks.
"I'm gonna go back, I mean to sleep and stuff but I'm gonna try and not be there when he's awake. "
"What about during the night? " Hunter asks.
"Well for tonight, he's having a party so I can sneak in without him noticing, as for the next two weeks, I'll just use my window. " I shrug casually. We finish our frozen yogurt and walk over to the movie theater.
I try to push the thought of Michael out of my mind as the movie plays on. Hunter squeezes my hand and I look over at him, his eyes glue to me. I remember the first time I met him. He made my entire 6th grade year better, always making me smile when I only wanted to lay in my own puddle of tears. I was closer to him than anyone else in my life at the time. Freshman year, he asked me to the homecoming dance and our relationship blossomed like tulip. I never thought I would love anyone so much. Everytime I look at him, I fall deeper for him. I'm floating in a great, crystalized sea of feelings.
As the credits roll, everyone is drying their tears and I'm coming out of my thoughts. My mind was everywhere but this movie, I actually wanted to see the movie. As we exit the theater, Cameron and Hunter rub their eyes.
" Are you crying? Is my boyfriend crying? " I tease.
" Maybe, why aren't you? Oh yeah, you barely have a heart! " He jokes back, picking me up and throwing me over his broad shoulder.
"Put me down! " I shriek.
"I'm always up for suggestions, I just don't take them. " I can feel him smirking.
"Ugh, it's raining," Nicole pouts.
"HUNTER! I'm gonna get soaked! " I slap his back, infuriated. Raindrops fall onto my back and I sigh I. defeat. He puts me down but keeps a grip on my waist.
"I'm getting all wet an- "
"Kiss me. " He interupts my rant. I oblige and meet his lips. My fingers run a marathon through his hair. By the time we get to our cars, everyone is a sloppy, drenched mess.
"Call me when you get home. " Hunter has a concerned look on his face.
"Okay, but I will be fine. " I assure him, hugging his neck before getting into Nicole's car. As we make our way to my house, I try to prepare myself for the chaos that's bound to happen when I arrive.
