Chapter Five: Mistakes

After a good hour of driving around in my car we were officially lost, although Elisa refused to admit it. For the whole duration of this God forsaken drive she'd been feeding me directions to her house but I was starting to think she was fucking with me... but God dammit I didn't care. I've spent a whole HOUR with this girl. I've heard her giggle, I've felt her glare and I've watched as she's stared off into nothing. She's nothing but calm and her hormonal level is off the charts but holy crap she's perfect. Her sarcasm is refreshing and her dirty mind had me drooling to spend more hours like this with her. At first we had been sitting in a close to crippling silence, until some idiot in a SUV cut me off and Elisa flung herself out of the half opened passenger window to scream at the man. As the dude swerved and flipped us the finger I pulled over and yanked her back into the car.

"Are you fucking crazy?" I screamed in her face. My hands were tightly gripped onto her forearms and my face was only inches from hers. My heart was almost beating out of my chest and I looked deeply and angrily into her eyes, for more than one reason.

Her low chuckle vibrated in the car and she smiled sweetly up at me.

"Maybe."

*............*

I'd given up on finding her house and pulled up near a familiar field. The large pasture was full of old memories, from where my brother and I use to play when we were younger until the night my dad-

I was pulled from my thoughts with a jolt when I was shoved to the ground by a tiny body jumping on my back. A loud giggle echoed in my ear before the small body rolled off of mine. My stomach ached a little from the impact of falling, as I rolled onto my back. My eyes searched for Elisa in the darkness, I found her lying in the same position as me to my right and I smiled at the sight. Call me a sap but looking up to the stars with a beautiful girl beside you is pretty damn romantic, if you ask me.

"That was mean." I taunted  her, pouting when she looked over at me in amusement.

"I'm not that heavy, Brendon. Don't be a pussy." She pulled a mocking face in fake disappointed while I held a hand to my heart in pain.

"Ouch Elisa, I thought you knew how much of a man I was." I couldn't help but laugh at all the situations she'd caught me in. Not one could be useful in describing me as 'manly'.

As we stayed in the field her giggle filled the night silence. The grass beneath me was rather wet and I felt my back becoming cold as I shifted my position in an attempt to get comfortable. Continuing to stare up at the sky I noticed Elisa shiver in the corner of my eye. Quickly sitting up I ripped my hoodie off my back and handed it to her. At first Elisa ignored my gesture and carried on staring up at the sky. Trying to get her attention I shook the hoodie in her face and watched as the secret smile grew on her lips. Her eyes flickered to the hoodie and then back up to the sky so quickly that I almost thought I'd imagined it.

A small smile formed on my lip as I grasped onto her little plan. Biting the inside of my cheek to stop myself from laughing I inched the hoodie closer and closer to her face. The closer I got to her, the more her eyes would flicker over to the hoodie. Her giggle was slight but I still hear it. After a while the fabric in my hand was slightly tickling the skin of her cheek and I was almost too scared to push it closer.

As if she was in my head, Elisa sat up. Softly taking the clothing from my hand she smiled a sweet smile up at me. I watched her as she stretched her torso up so she could place her head through the neck of the hoodie. She moved with so much elegance that I almost couldn't believe it was natural.
