Chapter Four: Human Flesh? Eh, Still Better than Cafeteria Food
Once upon a time, an angel captured a demon. The angel planned to take the demon to its superiors to make sure it hurt no one, but the angel sympathized with the helpless creature.
The demon, however, was incapable of feeling love back. It only appeared helpless out of instinct, in hope that anyone who managed to beat it would let it go out of pity. The angel pitied the demon enough to keep it, despite the dangers.
Over time, the pity turned to love. And the angel fawned over and loved the creature, spending days with it and making sure it had everything it could desire. Until the creature desired the one thing the angel would not give it- freedom.
The demon begged, using every skill it had learned to pull on the angels heartstrings and steal into its affections. Finally, the angel gave in and released the beast into the wild.
Five days of peace, until the angel crossed path with the demon once more, bent over and devouring the flesh of a human child. The angel was horrified, and immediately killed the demon without a moments thought.
There was no funeral, as a demon who performed such a crime was undeserving of such. So the body was tossed off the tallest bridge in a walking distance, the symbol of evil carved into its forehead as a warning to any who found the corpse.
The angel was distraught. They had caused the death of an innocent child, simply because of a silly infatuation with a creature of evil. In the angels mind, this made them no more than a demon themselves.
The angel took a large knife in a fit of depression and with two clean cuts, removed their wings. Then, as if in a trance, the angel walked to the same bridge the demon jumped off, and stood on the very edge.
It is said that at that moment, the angel regretting coming there. Regretted cutting off their wings. Regretted ever meeting the creature.
But it was too late, as the universe had already deciding their conviction and sent a gust of wind to send the angel plunging to the waters. And as the angel hit the cold surface, a hand wrapped around their ankle, dragging them down.
The demon, ready to once again meet its lover.

I leaned back in my chair, eyes watering from holding back laughter. That was the most ridiculous story I had ever read!
A demon eating human flesh? I mean, it had to be better than school cafeteria food, but still! No respectable demon would sink their teeth into that bacteria fest. How did the demon survive the fall? How did that angel? Why did the demon want to meet again if it 'Couldn't feel love' according to the book?
Ridiculous. Twilight had to be better than whatever shit this was.
I put the book back on the shelf, rolling my eyes. At least I got a good laugh in before being bored once more.
No wonder everyone hated demons if these were the only kinds of stories they heard about us. I tossed the book across the room, still snickering.
"Don't throw my stuff," A familiar voice growled, causing me to tense up. Why hadn't I sensed his presence?!
"I'll throw it if I want," I shot back. "If you don't like it then let me go."
All I got for a response was laughter, making my blood boil. I scowled as he walked over to the book, picking it up. His wings fluttered in a manner that somehow reminded me of amusement.
"Didn't strike you for the storybook type," He hummed, flipping through the pages. "I guess you're full of surprises."
"It's a bad book," I growled.
