Keychain (Kaidam)

(This is really bad but I needed to post Something, also this was requested on someone else's story by ThatEdgyBitch)

"LET'S HEAR IT FOR OUR WINNERS, HUH?"
The entire crowd cheered as Kai, Mira, and Adam held their hands up together in victory. Kai looked over at the losing team with a smile, but Vanessa just gave him a smirk. Kai jumped backward when he saw her eye glitch. He looked at the crowd frantically hoping someone saw it too, but no one did.. He didn't know if it was just him or not. He tried to play it off as if it was just in his mind but deep down he knew what he saw.

Kai stepped out of the restroom and saw Adam standing there, staring at him
"Oh— uh, Adam..heey" Adam smiled at him. "Hey Kai! You did really great in the competition!" Kai looked up at Adam with a blank face as he thought to himself:

he's so damn perfect

"Kai?"

Kai snapped out of it. "Oh— uh yeah you too! You were amazing!" Kai said with a smile, Adam smiled back "oh and before I forget"—his smile faded into concern— "are you okay?"
"uh— well, w-why wouldn't I be?"
"well it's just you seemed worried about something on stage, like you were looking for someone or something" Kai didn't want to tell Adam about what he saw, he knew Adam would either call him crazy or think he was weird. "what? Noo I was just— nervous.."
"nervous?"
"yeah..."
"why—"
Kai cut him off so he wouldn't have to try and think of another excuse "well Adam gotta go.." Kai started walking away but Adam grabbed him wrist "Wait!" Kai turned Around confused. He looked down at Adams hand, then up at Adam. Adam left go, "oh— uh...sorry.."
Kai spoke without hesitation and with a smile "sorry for what?" This took Adam off guard. Once Kai realized that, he backtracked "oh no! I just mean that you didn't do anything wrong!"
"oh..okay...we'll just wanted to give you this" Adam held out his hand with a keychain with The Hollow logo in it. Kai stared at it for a second, after a bit Adam grabbed Kai's hand and put the keychain in Kai's hand himself. He was basically holding Kai's hand with both of his hands as he smiled. Kai was so lost and confused about what just happened he could barely say anything. "uh— well..thanks" he smiled once he said the word thanks and turned around, taking the keychain. He took a deep breathe in and let it out heavily, as kept walking as he gripped his backpack strap tightly. That game changed everything, meeting Adam for the second time made him realize something..something that he didn't realized before. but he knew he would never be able to tell Adam how he felt. All Kai could do was try his best to act normal around Adam, which he obviously hadn't been doing a good job on.

That night Kai was walking home from some small corner store. He had his headphones in and was listening to The Broken Hearts Club by gnash. He almost started to cry, he didn't know if he could contain his feelings. He almost lost Adam once in the game and just the thought if losing him made him feel weak. Except if he lost him because if his confession it would probably hurt a lot more, almost. Kai just kept thinking about all of this and let his emotions take over. He knew he couldn't tell Adam how he felt, he wouldn't feel the same. While Kai was thinking he suddenly was pulled to the side forcefully and violently. His headphones were pulled out as a man pushed him against a wall in an alley. "wha— w-who..." Kai's voice was shakey and fearful, "give me everything you have..." Kai's heart sank. All he could think was this isn't happening, there's no way. The man pulled out a switchblade and held it up to Kai's stomach. "okay okay!" Kai reached into his pockets slowly. He pulled out his wallet, but his keys fell out too. The man looked down at the keys, he walked towards them ready to pick them up. "No please! Not those!" Kai yelled as he tried to get the Keys back. He struggled with the man for a bit until he felt immediate pain in his chest. Kai yelled in pain as he looked down and panicked, the keys fell to the floor. The man looked left and right frantically as he picked up the wallet and ran away. Kai was left there with a knife in his chest...he grabbed the handle about to pull it out. Right before he was about to he froze, he couldn't do it. He crawled to his phone and tried to dial numbers with his shakes hands.

9.....1...

He looked to his left and saw the keys on the ground, he looked the keychain. The one that Adam gave him, he quickly looked back at his phone backed out of the number pad on his phone.

"Please...please pick up" Kai thought to himself with tears streaming down his face.

"hello?"
"Adam!" Kai sobbed
"K-Kai?! What's wrong!"
"we'll I just got stabbed what about you?"
Adam hesitated not knowing if he was kidding or not. He knew Kai would make a joke in a situation like that "w-what?"
"and I don't think I'm gonna make it so I need to tell you something..."
"wait you were serious?!"
"Adam I don't have much time so I'm just gonna say it—"
"no you need to call 911!"
"ADAM JUST LISTEN TO ME"
Adam was silent
"I-I think im falling in love with you.."
Adam hesitated "K..Kai..." his voice sounded like he was about to cry too
"and I knew you wouldn't feel the same so I didn't want to tell you but this is it for me..."
"No Kai don't say that you need to get help!"
"Adam this is it..."
Adam refused to believe it. Adam was crying and his voice was shaky as he said what he said next

"Kai...I've felt the same way, I really have and I didn't want to tell you...I'm sorry..."

5 Months later

Adam sat on the green grass "sometimes I think about how different things would have been if I would have just told you...well obviously way different. I'm sorry I was the reason you died, Mira keeps telling me it wasn't but I know things would have been way different if I would have just told you how I felt..." a tear streamed down Adam's face as he stared at the grave in front of him.
