Eternity

It was the previous day that Olivia had texted me, and told me all about her grandmother, Sierra Mcburn.

Thanks to her, I came to know that Sierra was a very superstitious woman, mostly because her mother was a fortune-teller. She was also interested in history, horror films, and such things. After high school, she was pregnant which lead to a fast marriage with her grandfather. Sadly, only one twin survived, her uncle.

After two years, Olivia's mother was born. Three years later, at the age of 21, she went to college and soon specialized in mythology.

At 24, she had Olivia's aunt, But it didn't take her long before she was sent off to a home for the mentally ill.

Olivia's mother had only told her what she had heard from her father. She was out with some of her friends until they decided to see one of her friend's relatives, that might I add was "possessed"?

After only sitting with her for a few minutes, she began to scream and say things nobody made sense of. Her friends panicked and called her husband, and soon she was seated in a small room with only one chair and a bed. A window so small, that you couldn't even tell if it was day or nighttime.

Whenever her husband would take her children to see her, they would find her seated on her bed, staring at the gray wall opposite of her. When they'd try to talk or make her smile, she would end up in tears every time.

Once, after a fight between Olivia's parents, when she was only eight years old, her mother had taken her to see her grandmother for the first time.

She said, that even though she was clearly alive, it looked like she was dead. Like her soul had left, but her heartbeats continue... broken as it pumped her blood back and forth, waiting for the cycle to finally stop. That day, her mother had cried her heart out for her, but the woman showed no emotion in response.

"Ashleigh." She whispered. But that was all she said, her daughter's name. That day, her mother's eyes went wide, and a small part of her lit up with hope. I guess that was why her mother was devastated after she heard the news.

On December 12, 2007, Sierra's body was found dead, sleeping soundly.

After her death, all her things were divided to her three children. Her mother, having nothing to do with all the books she had gotten, gave them to her daughter, who soon got weirded out and hid them under her bed.

Of course, Ashleigh hadn't only gotten a few books, but jewelry and even a few of her mother's dress, that she kept hidden in her closet after she moved out.

But what does all that have anything to do, with what we were doing right now?

Waiting...

And Waiting...

But for what? What did we wait for, that made our hearts race at this speed?

"Olivia Mcburn, Amal Husain, and Ruqaya Salam," Called out a young blonde woman.

We all stood up in unison, more than glad to leave the dull waiting room. When she spotted us, her lips draw themselves into a smile and said in a tone that seemed disgustingly fake, "Please, fallow me."
