after Yoongi had hung up, Hoseok kept himself by doing some revision on the lessons they'd had today. Of course, he wanted to get good grades, but he couldn't be bothered and got distracted by his phone. His face got confused as he saw Yoongi's number ringing, merely half an hour after their first conversation, but he shrugged and answered it.
"Hello?" his voice rang out, you could hear nervous shouts and crying on the other end.
"Is this Hoseok?" Yoongi's mother's familiar voice said.
"Yes- What's the matter? Is everything OK?" 
"I thought of calling you first- Ah, I don't know how to say this. I think you might take it better in person. Come round and I'll.. I'll tell you."
"OK, be right there," Hoseok said and hung up. After pretty much sprinting to Yoongi's house, he saw Yoongi's mother in the car. She rolled down the window and said, "Get in,"
And so he did. Examining her appearance, her pale cheeks were stained with tears and her sniffles echoed throughout the car as she began driving.

"What's the matter, Miss? Is Yoongi OK?"
"...That's it. He's not." 
"W-what?" He began. He was OK before, what happened.
"Get out, I'll show you," she said as she pulled up outside the hospital. Hoseok only thought the worst as he followed the woman, and they came to a halt at a room that was crowded inside.
"Can we go in, Doctor?" Yoongi's mother asked a somber looking man. 
"Yes, but be careful, he's weak," 
As the woman pushed the door open, Hoseok widened his eyes.

There Yoongi lay in a white bed, surrounded by nurses and his body hooked into machines. His eyes were closed but he was crying and his whimpers entered Hoseok's head and made him feel sick.
"What happened?!" Hoseok exclaimed as he pushed a few nurses out of the way to sit beside him and take his hand.
But then, he spotted. Yoongi's arms were coated in blood and scars, his pale skin contrasting with the sickeningly red colour. The nurses had attempted to wrap them in bandages but it just soaked through.
"What did he do?" He asked the nearest doctor, his voice quiet.
"We don't exactly know..."
"But Jiminie was there, right? He must've seen something..." Hoseok realises, looking back at Yoongi's mother. She nodded and pointed to the red haired male sitting in the corner, sobbing. Hoseok let go of the blind boy's hand to go and sit next to him, and he looked up. His eyes red and puffy, Hoseok sighed as he pulled him close.

"Jimin-ah... What happened?" he asked, and after he'd got the boy to stop crying, he realised.
"I'd came over to his place to study with him, but when I entered his room, he was crying. He said he was scared everyone hated him, including his new friend," Jimin indicated his head towards Hoseok. "I told him everyone cared for him, but he pushed me away and grabbed his pair of scissors from the bed that we were supposed to use for posters. He... He cut so deep I could see the whites of his skin," Jimin paused to look away and sniff. "So I called his mother, I didn't know how to stop him. Only his mother knows how to make him properly happy. I feel so bad I couldn't have gotten there earlier."

"But... I was calling him and he said he had to leave because you came. He was already crying while we were talking." 
"Why didn't you try and make him happy, then?!" Jimin growled, and Hoseok mumbled something about Yoongi being worried about his mother. 
"I didn't know enough about what was happening! Don't blame me," Hoseok shouted, causing everyone in the room to look around at him. 

Sighing loudly, everyone cleared out so he could have some alone time. Sitting by his friend again, he took his hands and looked at the boy's calm, sleeping face. His relaxed expression. His plump lips. His pale complexion. His messy brown hair. Everything was so perfect. 

"Why do the most gentle people hurt themselves the most?" Hoseok mumbled, bursting into tears as he squeezed the others hands.
