Chapter 3: the first gym battle!

~(y/n) POV~

When I finally got to Silvent City I started by going to the Pokecenter. I looked around and saw that Jake hadn't yet gotten here so I decided to try and beat the gym. When I walked to the gym I looked up at the building. it was a blue building with silver rings on the sides and orange and pink stripes.

when I entered the gym it looked like a nightclub. I didn't really pay attention and started walking forward. "Hey slow down there McBidoof, I'm guessing this is your first gym. every gym specializes in a specific pokemon type. I usually don't say this but this gym specializes in electric type pokemons."

He told me all that I needed to know. I thanked him and continued forward. I saw two other people standing on the small way to the gym leader. I guessed that they would want to battle me before I got to the gym leader.

my suspicion was confirmed to be correct when the first one challenged me to a battle, as did the second one. when I finally got to the gym leader I was very determined to win this battle as well.

"Hello, I'm Chad, the gym leader and the creator of this fine establishment, I see you have no badges yet. heh, you better prepare yourself, I'm not going to go easy on you just because this is your first gym."

Chad first sent out a Shinx and after I had defeated that he sent out a Pikachu. when I finally beat the gym I happily left the gym. as soon as I walked out the door of the gym I came face-to-face with Jake.

"O-Oh! hi (y/n)! wow! you have the Arc badge now! I'm going to challenge the gym right now! I hope my pokemons are as strong as yours!"

I smiled and nodded. he ran past me into the gym and I walked over to the pokecenter. I healed up my Totodile and bought a few potions and paralyze heals.

when I exited the Pokecenter I began walking towards the next route.

(I'm gonna take out a few parts of the game that I think are unnecessary or makes no sense if it was an anime, also to make a bit more story like my own I'm adding small parts I came up with)

When I was just about to walk to the next route I saw a Hoothoot staring at me. 'wait...is that the same hoothoot as in the forest?'  When I was just about to continue walking the Hoothoot flew towards me and landed in front of me.

'what in the...' when I tried walking around the Hoothoot it just moved so it was still in front of me.

after a while of me trying to walk past it and it blocking me I just stopped. "What do you want you darn Hoothoot?!" I yelled at it. I was confused when it walked up to me and began rummaging around in my bag.

"H-hey- huh?" it grabbed an empty Pokeball and placed it in front of me. "...do you want to join my team...?" I questioned it. in nodded and rolled the Pokeball to me. "alright then.." I said and held up the Pokeball to it.

The Hoothoot gently bumped into the Pokeball and the Pokeball caught it. the Pokeball moved three times and then there was a small clicking sound. I held up the Pokeball to my face and smiled "welcome to the team Hoothoot"

I threw the Pokeball into the air and Hoothoot came out of the Pokeball. It landed on my shoulder and happily hooted. I quietly chuckled and continued walking. when I got to route 5 I was stopped by a few other trainers.

this time I had Hoothoot to fight with me as well instead of only Totodile. when I was really close to Brimber city I heard a familiar voice call out to me.

"Hey! Wait up!" I laughed when I saw Jake running full-speed, sweat running down his forehead and panting heavily.

"I finally caught up to - *pant* you! *pant* when did you get so fast!" he playfully glared at me and that earned him a quiet chuckle from me.

~Jake POV~

I blushed when I heard her chuckle. I wanted to see if she had gotten any stronger since the last gym so I was gonna challenge her to a battle.

"Alright (y/n)! I challenge you to a Pokemon battle! right here, right now!" I said to her and looked her straight in the eyes. She nodded and got into battle position.

I was expecting her to send out her Totodile but instead, she sent out a Hoothoot. "A Hoothoot? heh! guess you caught yourself a new pokemon! well, I've caught new pokemon as well!" I said and started by sending out my Eevee.

"Eevee! use Baby doll eyes!" I yelled out.

the battle went on for a while and (y/n) managed to beat all of my pokemons. my Eevee, my Blitzle, and my Nidoran.

"aw man, you beat me once again!" I whined and looked at her smirking figure. Well, if I needed to lose a million times just to see her smile... I would do it.
