Megan's POV

Tori smiles, "It does get irritating but its in their nature to go into protective mode, and most of the time overdoing it." She checks her watch, "Let's go get something, just us today," she smiles at me. I know she has a reason because Tori won't do something without a reason but I don't want to think about it right now.

I nod and we turn back towards the exit. "You do realize you're a lot like your brother in that sense. You're a bossy person," I laugh as she frowns at me.

We make our way to her car and she unlocks the doors for us to get it. I get in and I buckle my seat belt. All of a sudden the doors lock and Tori stares at me. What is with her brother and her having these creepy ax murder moments? "Can I help you?" I ask her raising an eyebrow suspiciously.

"Why are you tormenting yourself and my brother? What are you getting out of it?" She asks as she pulls out of the parking lot.

I look out the window not wanting to answer. "I thought you weren't going to interfere," I try to change the subject and I pray it works. This isn't a topic I want to discuss especially with my mate's sister of all people.

"Between you and my brother, you should both know I'm going to interfere no matter what." She rolls her eyes as if she's exasperated with my comment.

Good point. Tori is a force of nature and will do whatever she deems necessary to get something done. "Look Tori, it's a long story and the less you know, the better. My brothers and I have never had an easy life. We move around a lot because of our past. It follows us everywhere we go," I whisper the last sentence and I look away. This is the first time ever telling someone about our past even if it's just a general summary.

"Care to elaborate on your past," she says as she pulls up to a small little restaurant. She pulls into a parking space and I try to open my door but Tori still has it locked. She sits still.

"Not really. I do feel something for your brother and I honestly wish we weren't mates." Tor stares at me in shock. "No, I love knowing I'm his mate but he deserves someone who doesn't have to look over her shoulder every time they step out the door." I will always feel honored I'm that egotistic, sarcastic, annoying alpha's mate.

"You do realize he's completely in love with you, even if he wont' admit it," she sighs. She unlocks the door and I quickly open mine stepping into the fresh air. I felt as if I was being suffocated in her car. "I think you're making a mistake, he'll protect you, we'll protect you. You're technically future Luna, the pack will protect you with their lives."

We walk in and a waitress quickly sits us down at a small table. We place our drink orders and I realize Tori isnt' done with our conversation. I play with my straw refusing to the red head staring intently at me from across the table. For being a short little thing, she sure is intimidating and knows it. "Can't you please give him a chance?"

I sigh and I face her, "Tori I don't want to put him in danger, he's a future alpha. I'll be on the run probably for the rest of my life. What if, what if I get him killed? It would be my fault, my mate died. I couldn't deal with it." I whisper as I glance at her. She stares at me in shock and I bet she wasn't expecting it.

"Megan, the odds of that happening are slim to none. I don't know what to say anymore but I do know my brother loves you and you love him, even if you don't realize it. Please don't pass this up, a mate is the greatest thing to ever happen to you. If you don't take the risk, you're going to lose the best thing that has ever happened to you." She looks so sincere and I know she means every word of that speech.

I stay silent until our food arrives. I'm not very hungry anymore after that interesting conversation. I end up playing with my pasta. We finish our lunch in silence, and Tori pays the bill. I keep replaying our conversation in my head on the way back to school. I'm not scared, I just don't want to put anyone else in danger.

'The red head is right, listen to her. He's our mate and you can't change it. He's an alpha, he might be able to help us.' My wolf argues and after this little rant she goes back to ignoring me.

Tori pulls into the school parking lot. She's finished her ranting to me and hasn't tried to talk to me a whole lot now. Before I get out, she grabs my hand, "No matter what I'm still your best friend. Be sure to tell Adrian that." She winks at me.

I grin and I start walking to my locker. I can feel Logan close by. Lately he's everywhere but that's strangely relaxing in a sense. I take a deep breath and I start marching towards him. He's standing with Gabe, Josh, and some other guy. Gabe turns to me confused but I ignore him. I push past and I grab Logan by his shirt.

I pull his lips down to mine. He's in shock and is standing there frozen. I nibble on his lower lip and he finally gains his senses back. He wraps his arms around my waist and I gladly wrap my legs around his waist. He moves his mouth against mine but I reluctantly pull back after a few seconds. I look him straight in the eye, "I'll be your mate if you'll still have me. I know I put you through Hell but it took me a while to realize that I can't pass this up, no matter how hard I try." I whisper looking at him and right now I feel vulnerable leaving myself open.

Logan's smile turns into a full on grin that has my heart racing. He looks as if he's just won the lottery. "Of course I'll have you." He then spins me around the hall and I can't help but grin back. I feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. "No more of this whiplash stuff though, it's getting confusing," he sighs as he looks at me.

"I promise, no more whiplash." I then place a soft kiss against his lips. He sighs but then I remember we're in the hallway still. I turn to see a smirking Gabe. Logan sets me back on my feet but he doesn't let go of me. I slip my hand down Logan's back pocket and he stiffens. I chuckle and he pulls me even closer to him.

He places a gentle kiss against my temple and then starts kissing lower down my cheek, to my neck and I shudder. He nips at my ear and then whispers slightly, "Don't play a game you can't win, babe."
