Chapter 3 - The Reply

I realize that I must have forgotten my keys in the apartment today so I knock on the door and hope someone's inside. Soo Jin opens the door for me, her makeup half done.

"Are you going on a date too? And where's Bahar?"

"Yes, I am going on a date later and Bahar went to go and try to work things out with Yoongi." Soo Jin answers.

I really am the only member who will die alone, aren't I?

I pushed past Soo Jin and went to sit on my bed. Soo Jin follows me.

"Debi, you're really sweaty. I don't care if you're not going out tonight but at least go take a shower, will you?"

Ugh. She's right.

"Fine. Don't touch my stuff though okay?"

"When have I ever touched your stuff?" Soo Jin asked, confused.

After my shower, I put on my favorite sweatpats and a baggy t-shirt and headed back to my room. I sat down on my bed, grabbed the peice of paper and opened it. It was a letter.

So it was a reply to my letter! I hope they aren't judging me for what I said in mine.

The letter read;

Hey, whomever I am writing to!

I just wanted to let you know that your letter made me laugh. A lot. I don't think I've ever met someone who told their darkest secret to a random person before. It's nice for a change.

Right now, I'm going through a rough part in my life. There are some things going on with my family right now. I'd rather not specify. Receiving your letter made me smile even though I've been so down lately. I just wanted to let you know I'm grateful.

I do have a few questions though. Such as;

- Why did you write me a letter containing your darkest secret?

-In your letter, you mentioned Good Thing and Whiplash. Does this mean you are an NCT stan? Do you stan any other groups?

- Would you like to continue this letter-writing thing? I find its cool that I don't know who you are and you don't know who I am. I feel like I can be much more open with you than people in real life. Heck, I don't even know if you're female or male! Wait, that's another question.

- Are you male or female?

Oh! By the way, I'm not gonna show these letters to anyone. Would you mind not sharing them either? Since our lockers are so close, I feel like our groups may be closer than we think ;).

P.S. Whiplash is such a good song. I totally agree with listening to it for hours on end. :P

I laughed out loud at that last part. Soo Jin looked over at me and I could see the judgment in her face. I waved her off, dismissing my laugh as nothing. I couldn't tell if the letter writer was being serious or mocking me but it didn't matter at this point. It was still funny. I run over to the desk in the corner and start writing a reply.
