Sawyer had packed a bag, just like Diego asked. He was sitting on the front counter, legs crossed, watching the door. He leapt down when Diego came inside and met him at the door. He pressed a kiss to Diego's mouth. "Hi," he murmured.
Diego laughed, "Hi there." Diego handed Sawyer the cup of tea and reveled in Sawyer's surprised smile. "It's earl grey."
"You're wonderful," Sawyer said, taking a drink.
"I know," Diego joked leaning forward and kissing Sawyer's cheek.
Sawyer smiled at him and asked, "So where are we going?"
"Edisto Beach," Diego said.
Sawyer tilted his head and asked, "Where is that?"
"South Carolina," Diego answered.
"South Carolina," Sawyer parroted.
"Yeah," Diego said.
"Okay," Sawyer sipped his tea, "why South Carolina?"
Diego lifted a shoulder, "It's pretty up there." Sawyer lifted an eyebrow. "Absolutely gorgeous. I love the beach."
"In South Carolina?"
"Why are you shitting on South Carolina?" Diego laughed.
Sawyer smiled and rolled his eyes, "I'm not, I just think it's funny that South Carolina is where you picked for us to run away to."
"I'm multidimensional," Diego said and Sawyer laughed and kissed the corner of his mouth. "Have you ever been to the beach?"
"I have not," Sawyer answered.
Diego wrapped his arms around Sawyer's waist and squeezed, "I'm excited to take you."
"Then I'm excited to go," Sawyer said. He kissed Diego and said, "How far away is it?"
Diego's smile only grew, "It's a while."
"How long is "a while," Diego?" Sawyer asked frowning.
"It's going to be fun."
"Diego."
"A whole goddamn experience."
"Diego, just tell me."
"Just the two of us, alone together."
"Diego."
"Eleven and a half hours."
Sawyer blinked and took a moment to process it. "Diego, oh my god."
"I know."
"That's so far."
"Yeah, it is."
"I don't drive, I can't switch off with you."
"I know."
"Eleven and a half hours is so long."
"We'll get a room if we need to."
"Diego."
"Cariño, it's going to be fun," Diego smiled. Sawyer nodded and Diego kissed him until he smiled. "We're going to have a good time."
"I believe you," Sawyer answered, kissing him again.
"The beach."
"The beach?"
"You're going to love it," Diego was grinning and Sawyer was sure he'd love anything that made Diego smile like that.
"I love you."
Diego kissed him deeply, "Do you have swim trunks?"
"They're in my bag," Sawyer said jerking his thumb over his shoulder.
