"are we even allowed to be here?" kaleb wondered aloud from the right of me as us and our three other friends had neared the loud and red decorated home surrounded by trees.
"don't see why not," riley responded after she and charlotte turned around from ahead to face us in the back. we had all completely stoped walking and were now a few houses away from our destination."well since we're basically rivals with the people in that house and the fact that they beat us at the game tonight," monty started to say. even though us "knights" had brutally lost to the opposing team i had still self-invited me and my friends to this "wildcat" party. it might be a bit wrong but what's the harm in partying? "but, i've always wanted to crash a party," monty continued to say. he let a little smile creep its way to his face, bringing along ones to his neighboring friends.
"well, we've got to let little monty's dreams come true and go to this party my friends," i spoke as i wrapped my arm with monty's. "come on," i nodded my head to the house containing the party.

we had all successfully made our way into the party without a second glance from others. based on our other different interests in what to do at the party, we had separated and agreed to meet at the front of the house in around an hour since we were all going to sleepover at the evans' household on the east side of albuquerque.
i had originally planned to find some food but a stiff and quiet person had captured my attention. he was sitting on the platform underneath a massive treehouse that was placed in the corner of the backyard. he was looking down at his lap where his fingers were moving around with each other. it was a complete odd sight to see someone looking sad and lonely at this loud party that probably kept the entire neighborhood up. "but that's going to change" i thought to myself. there was no way that i'd leave this poor boy not have any fun at the party.
i walked over to the ladder that lied on the trunk of the tree and placed my hands on the edges of it. the name troy was carved into one of the wooden pieces of the ladder and so was the name chad. those names were familiar enough to me after hearing those names constantly come out of my sister's mouth and since they were the star players of the team that just beat the team that i was cheering for around an hour ago.
sharpay had spoken about how she was into troy but this new girl gabriella had gotten in the way by taking his heart. "she's a thief," i vividly remember hearing sharpay say over the phone one night, "she literally took what wasn't her's!"
but over the past summer my friends and i had spent another month at the country club and had witnessed half of my sister's execution of "bringing troy back to someone better than the garbage he's been hanging around with." during the final month of summer on my friend group's and i's trip to bali, sharpay had filled me in on how she successfully made troy realize how gabriella was no good for him and how she had been helping him all along with the job opportunities she was providing. long story short, sharpay squealed all night about troy finally breaking up with gabriella and him being free for her to get with.
to be honest i felt for the boy, ending off the summer before senior year without his girlfriend and being bothered by the blonde version of an angel mixed devil did not seem nice. but tonight he seemed happy, surrounded by the game and all his glory of being co-captain and star player. but the treehouse troy was the not same as basketball troy.
"you do know that the party is way better down there right?" i said as i finally got to the top of the ladder and was at eye level with the lonesome boy. my hip rested on the edge of the treehouse's platform before i lifted my leg up and climbed onto the platform. i walked my way to troy and sat down next to him, gazing down at the party.
my eyes laid on the my friends wearing the same blue and yellow jackets the school provided us with due to our participation in their sports. a blonde boy moving his arms back and forth bumped himself repeatedly against the brunette long haired girl. a nearby girl with her black hair tied in a bun was jumping on a trampoline testing how high she could jump with another assumed cheerleader dressed in red. and a brunette boy stood nearby playing a ping pong game with another teen with red face paint on.
"um, yeah," the boy next to me started to say, "i just wanted to you know, get away from the crowd." he flashed me a smile that could melt millions and i couldn't help but do the same. "you're from the west?" he said, nodding his head towards my jacket and small "WHK" removable tattoo on my cheek below the corner of my right eye.
"ah, yes, your rivals had crashed your team's party," i turned to see his bright blue eyes and dimples that surrounded the corners of his mouth.
"eh, it's alright. party wasn't too fun anyways."
"what?" i dragged out the a causing a chuckle to leave from the boy next to me. "star player troy bolton doesn't think that the party that is basically celebrating only him is fun?"
"well, guess there needs to be a party crasher like you."
