Mary lay beside Edward on her father's grand bed, in his sleeping quarters.

'You have done well,' he told her.

Mary kissed his brow. 'Given the chance, I would do it again, and again, until I shall find my happiness again.'

'still,' said Edward, turning matters over in his head. 'It is a hard thing to do, killing your father I mean.'

Mary yawned. 'It's getting late, there is much to be done.'

Edward blew out the candle.

'On the morrow, we shall be man and wife and I will make you happy, that I promise.'
