we finally arrived at alex's house. it looked very pleasant and it had a wide yard with it's grass cut very short and neatly. it had three stories and a large balcony.
alex helped me with my things and paid the cab. i was offering to pay the cab but he insisted that he would pay it.
alex knocked on the entrance door, it was a glass door with some victorian detailing.
someone opened the door. finally. i was so tired. she was a korean lady who looked around 40 and she was wearing a very simple yet classic blazer and a basic professional pencil skirt.
the lady: "Hello Alex, I miss you so much. Let me give you a hug."
she hugged alex and alex smiled.
Alex: "Mom, this is Daisy that Dad was talking about."
the lady: "Oh hi Daisy, I'm Marilla and .."
she stopped. she rubbed my hair and squeezed my cheeks. i just smiled.Marilla: "You're very pretty and sweet."
Daisy: "Well thanks Aunt Marilla. You're very pretty too."
at this point, alex smiled and blushed all around. he seemed embarrassed.
Alex: "Let's go inside and rest a bit."
Marilla: "Oh I already made lunch for you all."
i finally entered the house. it had a spacious living room with a big tv to match with, aqua colored wallpapers with some classic victorian patterns on it. it had two bulky, velvet, cozy sofas. there's also a mahogany coffee table with Vogue magazines on top of it. i also just realized that there's a lot of plants and succulents on every corner of the room.
alex: "Daisy."
daisy: "yes?"
i realized that i'd been looking and wandering around in an intent way. and i had just noticed alex had been holding my pullover since we got out of the cab.alex: "Let me show your room."
i followed his instructions and walked behind him. he walked upstairs and i could feel the cold, hard, wood staircase under my feet. he was walking really fast and i was tired. at last, we reached the second floor.alex: "So this my bedroom on the left and if you need anything, you can knock on my door and.."
he paused as he started to point another room.
alex: "There's my parents bedroom, and another room next to it is my step-sister's room."daisy: "Got it. Do you really need to call your sister, 'step'-sister?"
alex: "Sometimes."
i stayed silent as i knew there must be some sort of family drama. i could see his face turned bitter.daisy: "okay."
alex: "Your room is on the third floor."
now the staircase was in between alex and the other bedrooms. i was very pleased when i knew that i'll be on third floor. i knew that floor would be entirely mine and i could spend a lot of time alone.we went up and i saw this vast balcony just in front of us. it had really beautiful view and i could see a lot of plants and pots in the balcony.
alex: " Here's your room."
daisy: "woah, you have a really nice balcony."
my room was on the left side and the balcony was at the middle.alex stayed silent as he opened the door to the bedroom.
i could see two big windows in the bedroom and it looked really bright and cozy. i love it.
"There are this bed where you will sleep, I hope you will sleep well and.. this wardrobe from Ikea and a standing mirror and pink vanity."
alex said."I love it!!"
"You're so happy now huh?"
"Please don't start."
"What? You were literally sobbing an hour ago and look."
"What?"
He pointed his tshirt.
"Whoopsie."
"Your tears. It drenched my whole shirt."
"Sorry." i said as i blushed.
abruptly, a small creature came in.
it's a white toy poodle, it looked so cute. i always wanted a small dog.alex: "Hey Stitch. What's up?"
he said as he petted and scratched the dog.daisy: "He's so cute. How old is he?"
alex: "Only 3 months."
*beep beep beep* interrupted our conversation.alex picked up his phone and
"Eyy, Calum. Just arrive actually. Do you want to come over. Yeah there's free food here."
he chuckled. he ended the call and suddenly grabbed my hand.daisy: "Um why are you grabbing my hand?" as he grabbed my hand and went downstairs.
alex: "You need to unpack quickly and take a shower. My friend is coming in a few minutes."
daisy: "So?"
alex: "You have to look clean and pleasant."
daisy: "But why?"
alex: "Just make a good impression because he's going to come over to my house every single day. His name is Calum by the way, if you didn't know already. He's my bestfriend. We like to hang out here."
daisy: "Well okay."
i unpacked my suitcases and put my clothes in the dresser. i picked up some bathroom needs and organised it in my bathroom. thank God i have my own bathroom.i decided to take a quick shower and just when i thought i have everything in place, i forgot to bring my towel.
i peaked outside and i could see alex sitting in my bed texting. fuck.
i'm wet and i'm naked. i decided to ask alex for help and i put out my head out to the door.
"Alex?"
"hmmmm." he said as he's texting, didn't seem to care at all.
"Can you help me?"
"What?" he finally looked at my face.
"I forgot my towel. Can you please take it for me?"
he looked around.
"Where did you put it?"
"Oh i forgot to bring it out, it's still inside my suitcase."alex walked to my suitcase and he opened it.
"Is this your towel?" he said while he's holding a white robe.
"It's a robe but okay never mind, give it to me."
"Here you go."
"Thanks."well that was embarrassing. i then got ready, put on some makeup. i preferred the natural look, just some strokes of concealer, one layer of mascara and glossy lips. i brushed my hair and straightened it a bit.
i put on my clothes and i was wearing a pink hoodie and a pair of skinny black jeans. i went out.
just out, i saw alex literally digging through my suitcase.
"Hey what's this?"
"It's nothing."
"Who's this Quentin?"
shit.
