Chapter One - I Do Live a Normal Life... Sometimes.

(AN // Hey! This is I think my first actual fanfiction I'll be writing :) Since I'm a Honey Lemon account, the main character shall be Honey ^^)

Waking up in San Fransokyo is not too pretty. Well, for me anyway. I live in a small apartment, near one of the busiest streets here, so there's always honking and chatter outside. I rub my eyes and put on my large, pink-framed glasses. Pink is one of my favorite colors, yes, and so is yellow.
I'm afraid I haven't introduced myself yet! Hi, my name's Aiko Miyazaki, but you can call me Honey Lemon. That's okay right? Good.
Lifting my body up from a deep sleep, my feet swing over the bed onto the cold, wood floor. The cold wakes me up more, no matter if it's summer or winter. Today's a Saturday, and I'll be working a shift at the Sweet Bean Café!
I walk over to my closet in my pajamas and open it. I take out a yellow knitted cardigan, a pale yellow shirt, some white, lacey leggings, peach socks and toss them onto my bed. Luckily, I found the yellow pumps I love, so I also take them out. I change into them and take my prized purse off of the coat rack. Almost forgetting, I grab my yellow headwrap. Yea. I told you I like the color yellow!
No one seemed to be awake yet when I walked down the apartment's stairs. Just a tennant in a white tanktop and boxers was outside the doorway, and I said hello to him on the way down. The sliding door opens, and I enter the chaos we know as San Fransokyo.
Maybe just the apartment I live in is just not awake yet. The streets are already bustling and a bunch of vendors are selling some sweets and the smell of teriyaki filled the air. A trolley passed by, and although I usually take one to the café, today I wanted to walk through the streets since I haven't in a while.
Up in the air, were the turbines that a company set up to generate some electricity that we use since San Fransokyo's pretty close to the coast. Personally, I've been to the beach only once, when I was a kiddo, but I still wonder why I don't go there. The sky is perfectly blue, and little blimps and kites are scattered across it. The view of the bridge is beautiful from the city's hill I'm standing on, and cars pass over the orange-gold bridge. San Fransokyo has many hills, so seeing a trolley go by is quite amusing for me, since going up and downhill jerks you.
I passed various shops and restaurants, and peered into a bakery that had some delicious, light and fluffy cake. Then, a sushi restaurant, where Wasabi works, had some insanely fresh fish, probably bought from the fish market here maybe thirty minutes ago. Wasabi is a neat freak, but he's pretty cool. (He's one of the guys here who can cook! Isn't that great??)
The lot above the building makes me suspicious though. It's a technology company, owned by Alistar Krei. He's the CEO, and always looks for anything interesting I'm the tech world. I have a smartphone made by them, and their logo, a fancy "k" shape, and it works pretty well...
The crosswalk light tells the pedestrians that we can cross, so I join the crowd and walk towards the other side of the street, and I walk down a little and I appear at the café. I come in, and thank goodness there's only the daily customer and about two others here right now, since I have to put my barista apron on. I go into the bathroom, and pull out the apron out of my purse, and put the cardigan in.
You're probably wondering how I can fit that into my purse, aren't you? My purse looks rather big and boxy but if I put a jacket in there, a regular purse would never close right?
My purse, which I call a "power purse", somehow is multidimensional and I can put in anything I'd like and take out anything I like. It's like Mary Poppins' handbag; she could pull out a table even though the bag was at least a tenth of that size. It's pretty helpful though, when you need to get something immediately.
I come out of the bathroom, and see more customers in line for our freshly-roasted coffee. A coworker, more like my friend, takes an order and makes a fresh cup of espresso, puts some cream and sugar and gives it to him. He takes a sip, pays for it and leaves. It was a returning customer, although I never figured out what his name was.
Time passed quickly and I made a bunch of mochas and lattes for them. After some time passed without anyone coming in, I brew myself a cup and add milk and honey to it. And a lemon for garnish. Sitting down by the window, I took a sip and took a look outside to see the people pass by with their daily lives.
But something didn't look right about today. There were more people looking up above them on this street. Only a photographer and a cloudgazer would stare at the sky, but these people, they were just citizens of San Fransokyo! Some looked terrified, with their mouth open, in terror.
I stood up and asked someone what was happening. She said that there's a giant wall of gray climbing up the sky, so I run to the window and take a look and readjust my glasses. She was right, a giant cloud if gray was climbing up this wonderful city. I walked out in my barista outfit and joined them. I have no clue what this is, but it looks like some sort of... Metal?
Not knowing what to do, I run over to Wasabi's restaurant and ask him about it. We and four others have a 'team', but it was just made for fun. Was it time for real action? Something most of us weren't prepared for?
