A/n: This is my first book that isn't RWBY related so I hope this is ok and you'll all enjoy it. I would also like for you guys to leave in the comments who you want (Y/n) to fall for? Now I only have two restrictions for that vote and that is number one: They have to be enrolled at U.A. Number two: Uraraka is off the table for obvious reasons. Other than that let's get this started.

There is a boy with black hair, blue eyes, and a blue scarf wrapped around his mouth and nose sitting in a far off corner of a classroom by himself. He looks at the other kids in the middle of the room who are talking and playing together. He sighs through his scarf and looks back down at the desk in front of him. The reason he was sitting by himself was thanks to his quirk of which he discovered a year ago during class. His quirk was peculiar as his core body temperature was very below average which causes his skin to be cold to the touch and allows him to release freezing cold temperatures from his mouth. Upon doing so he almost froze two kids that were picking on him thus, the teacher requested that his mouth stay covered as well as wanting him not to speak to anyone. His father was very against it but he had very little pull so, all he could do was try to make his son feel better however, it was clear that the effects of what was happening to him at school was showing as he most of the time remained silent. It hurts his Dad a lot to see his son like this because he used to be so excitable and vocal, but now he lacks emotion and talks very little. Thanks to his teachers request that he doesn't speak, he doesn't have any friends. At the end of the day (Y/n) walks home by himself as he often did and as per usual his dad wasn't home yet. He doesn't hold any anger towards him because he knows he loves him he just has to work. (Y/n) does what he normally does, he grabs a sandwich that his dad made for him to have when he got home, (Y/n) then sits down and watches the news in hopes to see a story about a hero. He actually thought heroes were super cool and he wants to be one when he grows up, but if he's not even allowed to open his mouth how could he be a hero that inspires hope. At least that's how he sees it. His father comes in an hour later and asks.
Dad:"Hey son. How was your day?"
(Y/n) then says in a very shy and quiet voice as steam from his cold breath seeps out past his lips.
(Y/n):"It was school."
Dad:"That bad huh?"
(Y/n) just nods which causes his Dad to say in response.
Dad:"Hey little buddy don't worry about it. Let's just get you some dinner, ok?"
(Y/n) then asks as steam leaves his mouth once again.
(Y/n):"Can we have (f/f)?"
Dad:"Of course, son."
(Y/n) then hugs his dad as he says.
(Y/n):"Thank you dad."
Dad:"Your welcome son."
-later that night-
(Y/n) was laying in his bed trying to sleep, his dad then walked past his room to hear (Y/n) crying. At this his Dad comes in and sits on the edge of the bed and puts his hand on (Y/n)'s shoulder before asking.
Dad:"What's got you so worked up, buddy?"
(Y/n) continues to sob and snivel before saying.
(Y/n):"I just want some friends to play with. Like everyone else, but everyone hates me."
His Dad can see a thin layer of frost that is on his son's pillow just from those few words. His Dad is at a loss for what to say thus, he just rubs his son's back as (Y/n) continues to cry until he asks his Dad.
(Y/n):"Hey D-dad?"
Dad:"Yeah son."
(Y/n):"Did Mom have any friends?"
Dad:"Yeah she had a lot of friends."
(Y/n):"And she was like me?"
Dad:"Yeah you got her quirk and her eyes."
(Y/n):"How did she make so many friends?"
Dad:"She got all of her friends because she was a very nice and helpful person. I wish you could've met her."
His Dad had a single tear come down his face as he wiped his face at this he hears his son say.
(Y/n):"I'm sorry."
Dad:"Huh?"
(Y/n):"I know you don't like talking about that. I'm sorry."
Dad:"No it's okay son. Look just get some sleep, okay?"
(Y/n):"Yes sir."
With that said his Dad got up and says right before leaving his room.
Dad:"Goodnight, son. I love you."
(Y/n):"I love you too, Dad."
His Dad leaves the room and sits in the living room as he reflects on all the things his son just asked. His mind just kept wondering to (Y/n)'s mother as his eyes begin to water. Before he says while looking at his wedding band.
Dad:"I wish you could be here. He needs you now more than me. I miss you, Alexis."
He finally heads off to his room and goes to bed so he can be rested for work tomorrow.
-the next day-
(Y/n)'s went on as usual as his mind kept coming back to what his Dad said about his Mother. Though, it's not like it could really help as he isn't really allowed to speak not really giving him the chance to be nice to people. He then is walking by the playground as he is heading home until he sees a boy with freckles and green hair standing between a blonde boy and another kid who is crying. (Y/n) then hears the boy with blonde hair say.
???:"What are you going to do? You don't even have quirk, Deku!"
(Y/n) then thinks before rushing to help the green haired boy.
(Y/n)'s thoughts:"He doesn't have a quirk, but he still stood up for someone?"
(Y/n) just gets in front of the green haired boy and says as the part of the scarf covering his mouth freezes almost completely.
(Y/n):"Leave these two alone."
(Y/n) then remembers these were the kids that were picking on him when he unlocked his quirk. This actually works to his favor as the one with blonde hair says.
???:"Let's go. They aren't worth it."
The others fall in line and run off before, (Y/n) hears the boy with green hair say.
???:"Thanks um... I don't think I know your name?"
(Y/n) looks at the boy who is the first to ever talk to him at school since unlocking his quirk. He then replies hesitantly by saying.
(Y/n):"Your welcome and my name is (Y/n) (L/n)."
The green haired boy says.
???:"Wait your the boy that can breathe ice right?"
(Y/n):"Yeah kinda I guess."
(Y/n) is now expecting the boy to basically leave (Y/n) without saying anything else to him. Instead, the boy says with great enthusiasm.
Midoriya:"That's a really awesome quirk! Oh I forgot to say before but my name is Izuku Midoriya."
(Y/n) looked at the excitement on Midoriya's face and is very surprised at his reaction. (Y/n)'s surprise doesn't stop there as Midoriya asks.
Midoriya:"Hey do you wanna be friends?"
(Y/n):"You want to be my friend?"
Midoriya:"Well, yeah you seem like a nice person."
(Y/n) feels so happy that a smile comes to his face though only he knows it's there thanks to his scarf. He then replies happily.
(Y/n):"Yeah I'd like to be friends with you Midoriya."
Midoriya:"Awesome!"
The two then played for a few hours until their respective parents came to pick them up. Both parents were happy to see that their children had at least a friend to play with.
