It had been three months since the alternate dimension incident. Damian and Jon had adjusted well enough to their new selves and that was a good thing since the league hadn't been able to revert their 'condition' yet.
Damian had been very busy with titans business and hadn't spent too much time with Jon out of their patrols. Neither of them liked it, but both had duties to fulfill and in the hero industry duties come first.
Jon was the most upset about it because he didn't have a team to hang out with when Damian wasn't around. He made up with Kathy and things were back to normal between them. Jon was grateful for it, he didn't want to lose her as a friend, and since Robin was so busy it was nice having at least one person to turn to.
Damian on the other hand was completely and utterly focused in his work with the titans and didn't even realised how left aside Jon had been all those months. He and Maya were in good terms since their 'break up' and she still help him in some cases.
But Damian's investigations were pointing that someone was lurking around them, peering from the future, and coming for them. Damian feared that The one behind it was on his way and had been preparing to face him, but Tim Drake of tomorrow wouldn't be easily defeated.
"I think this will make them think twice next time they try to robe a bank in Metropolis." Jon said to his partner while the police arrived to take in the robbers. "Don't you think so, Robin?"
"Yeah. Sure. Whatever." Was Robin's sole answer. He was looking at something on his glove's holographic screen.
"Are you even listening to me?" Jon asked a little angry. Damian had been acting like that during the last weeks and it was getting annoying.
"Yeah. Sure. Whatever." He repeated, making it clear Jon was right.
"Hey, cut it out. I'm talking to you, at least try to hide it better when you don't listen to me." Jon said grabbing his arm and making him snap back to reality.
"I don't have time for pointless banter, Superboy. I'm on the track of something important." He said coldly.
"Dude, you have been acting really weird. You don't listen to me, you space out thinking about whatever and stay looking at your screen for hours on end."
"It is a big case, Superboy. I have been gathering data of all our missions and I think that I've finally got something solid, so if you don't mind." He said and went back to his tapping and cross referencing.
"Actually I do mind." Jon said completely fed up with Robin's attitude. "We are a team, you have to let me be part of your investigations too."
"I don't have to do anything." Robin said rather harshly. "And I'll fill you in on a case when I consider it necessary and only when I consider it necessary."
"So that's it! I'm just a tool, another gadget of your utility belt that you use as you please and when it's advantageous for you." Jon said a bit too loudly. The people behind the police line starting to glance their way.
"I though we left our roles very clear when we faced Kid Amazo. I am the brain and you are the fist. You do as I say and everything works out. Picture paint, easy concept to grasp."
Jon couldn't believe what he was hearing. He thought they were good now, that all those stupid fights were a thing of the past. But obviously he was mistaken.
"You know, I thought that you had change. I liked to believe I was helping you change for the better . But I see you are the same egoistical, obnoxious and selfish jerk you were." Jon said trying to get under his skin.
"And you are the same kid that without his superpowers is nothing. I don't have time for your childish nonsense. This is highly more important than anything right now." Robin said coldly. "And specially more important than what we are doing here."
