Jon and Damian flew through the skies of Gotham trying to they find Jon's mother, which was proving unsuccessful.
"We'll never find her in time!" Jon exclaimed with fear in his voice."
"Of course we are." Robin said with determination. "I'm not letting my mother kill yours. Just call her and I'll track her phone signal."
"Okay. What should I tell her?" Jon asked taking out his phone.
"Something that keeps her on the phone long enough for me to track her." Robin said. "I don't know... Something that she'd be interested in hearing about."
"Okay. I'm on it." Jon responded, knowing the perfect thing to say to her.
He pressed the call button and waited for her to pick it. After three rings Lois' voice greeted him from the other side.
"Jon? Honey, is everything okay? She said with motherly concern.
"Hey, mom! Yeah, uh... I just wanted to tell you that something fantastic has happened..."
"What is it, Jon?" She asked, obviously interested.
"Well, you see..." He started, taking a deep breath before going on. "Damian and I are dating."
Jon could feel his cheeks heat up as he said it. Damian stared at him with a shocked expression and Jon didn't need to use his x-ray vision to know that beneath the green mask Damian was shooting him a death glare.
"Almost got her." Damian told him.
"What?!" Lois yelled on the phone. "I-I am so... Happy for you. Damian is a good kid and you know how well your fathers get along. I'm sure they will be as happy as I am.
"Got her! She's at a sundollar in Gotham square." Damian finally said.
"Thanks, mom. I'm really happy too. I'll tell you the details when you get back from your trip to Gotham, bye." Jon waved, surprised of how well his mother had taken the news.
"Yeah that sounds great. Be good at Damian's house. Love you."
He hung up and breath out heavily. Damian was still staring at him.
"Why did you tell her that?" He asked, a little flustered.
"You said that I tell her something that would catch her attention. That was the best thing that came to my mind at the moment." Jon answered.
"Why didn't you tell her you were dating Kathy?" He let out the last word as if it was something disgusting. "I mean, you actually like her, so why not her?"
Jon suddenly froze. Did Damian think that he liked Kathy? Was he really that oblivious to Jon's behaviour around him?
"I-I don't like Kathy!" He tried to defend himself. "She's just a friend."
"Whatever you say." Damian muttered. "Let's focus on the mission. we'll deal with the consequences of what you said later."
"Okay, Robin. Let's go save my mom from your mom!" Jon agreed as they approached the location were his mother was going to be murdered.
Talia was on a rooftop across the street from the café aiming her sniper to the head of the reporter.
She questioned why Damian wasn't there already. She had left a trail of obvious breadcrumbs for him to follow. She even lowered herself to kill a mere reporter.
Were was her son? Maybe she just needed to kill the reporter to make Damian more willing to play the game. If he was as much as Bruce as he wanted her to believe, he would not let her take an innocent's life.
