Hello ladies! Does eyeliner have you down? Don't know how to apply it?

Well you happened to stumble across this article! Wow, so convenient!

Let's start off with the type of eyeliners, then I'll get down to applying the eyeliner to the eye.

(BTW, I'm not sponsored by any of these brands, just using photos as examples.)
Liquid Eyeliner

Pros: It looks formal, creates bold looks and straight not smudgy lines

Pros: It looks formal, creates bold looks and straight not smudgy lines.
Cons: You have to have steady hands (I have a hand tremor so you won't see me with liquid eyeliner) and it's tough to remove without creating black smudges all over your eye. It also can look a little pointy, so I wouldn't wear this with jeans and a band shirt.

Kohl (Pencil) Eyeliner

Pros: It's travel efficient, easier to apply and can be blended for a nice smudge

Pros: It's travel efficient, easier to apply and can be blended for a nice smudge. It's soft and won't drag on the skin and is much easier to clean up when you make a mistake.
Cons: it doesn't create that sharp of a line and needs to be reapplied multiple times throughout the day.

Gel Eyeliner

Pros: It's used by makeup artists because it creates a bold line and it's easy to clean up

Pros: It's used by makeup artists because it creates a bold line and it's easy to clean up.
Cons: you have to apply it with a special brush, which needs to be cleaned and sometimes is sold separately.

So, now that you've picked out your eyeliner, let's learn some types of eyeliner lines.

Cat Eye

This one is common, and can look great if done properly but can also look disastrous is done wrong

1. Create outline of wing
2. Fill it in
3. Continue eyeliner on rest of eye.

There are a bunch of hacks for creating a "perfect" wing outline, but I highly don't recommend the scissor to your eye one. Don't stick sharp and potentially dangerous things near your eyeball, it's common sense.

Natural Eyeliner

The more beginner look, this one just includes a straight line right above your lash line

Heavy Bottom

For those channeling their inner goth, or if you just like this look, it's quite simple

For those channeling their inner goth, or if you just like this look, it's quite simple. Just do a natural eyeliner on top, and repeat on the bottom.

Okay, that's the basics to eyeliner. Now you can go rock your favourite bold looks, and hopefully don't end up with an eyeliner tragedy.

Love always,

Lori.
