The garden was a lovely one, filled with fruits and flowers of all kinds, as tall and lush as the one Above, but not nearly as colourful.

Inside the garden, resided an aged gardener, eyes as old as time, skin wrinkled and back bent; his form just bare wisps of grey holding together.

He was pruning the pomegranate tree, fruits of which fallen around him, seemingly to wither when it touched the ground.

"My Lady, what are you doing here?" He asked softly, never turning around. Her eyes widened, for how could he had known of her presense?

She coughs. "The pomegranates look mavellous," she said instead, and she should know because all Mother ever does is chatter about her lovely garden. "May I take a bite?"

Something in his worned-out eyes seemed to flash, as he brought his golden shears down to rest.

"Young Maiden," His face grew tired, laden with worry. "You are the Daughter of the Goddess who holds reign over the seasons. You are a being of the Above World, and this will not change. Never eat the food of the Down World, or you shall never leave."

Her nails digged into her palm, breath coming out in sharp intakes. The blood was roaring in her ears, taking control of all her rational thoughts.

It was insane. It was crazy. It was unheard of.

It might actually work.

A smile, a painfully aching smile took over her features, and she felt giddy. This might work; this might work.

"Give me the fruit," she all but breathed.
