#PRIVATE STORY#
Ten years is a lot of time, especially if you are not in contact with someone, isn't it?
Manik Malhotra and Nandini Murthy were childhood friends. Best friends.
Until, she left the city after her tenth grade.
And now she is returning...
~ I don't know what exactly happiness is, but when she is with me, I can't help but smile~
The morning was an anxious one for Pakhi, who woke up early, her heart not at peace, continuously thinking about her kids, and their sufferings. As a mother, all she wanted was their happiness, and at that point, that was exactly what was missing. Sighing, she came out of her room, and her eyes fell on the closed door of Nandini's room. Poor girl.
Exhaling, she walked up to Manik's room and was shocked to find it empty. Did that mean he didn't return at night? Her eyes dilated at the realization, he had went to see Shiwali and he didn't come back.
Good lord!
With hurried steps, she walked down, and pushed open Nandini's door, wanting to console her, but received a surprise in return, for Nandini slept peacefully, in Manik's arms, who had his arm draped around her waist, and his legs entangled with hers.
Pakhi had her mouth hung open, she had not expected that, atleast not that soon. A smile started to form on her lips, as she quickly rushed to bring her phone and click a picture. It would surely help her tease the love birds.
Walking out, she opened her whatsapp to send a long text to Shiwali. No matter what, she cared for that girl too, and atleast she could give her a motherly support around.
The sun came up to shine on their head, at the peak of the noon, when Manik stirred. Moving slightly, he batted his eyes lids and opened them, only to find Nandini sleeping so close to him. Her hairs were all over his chest, and she was cuddling to him like he was her teddy bear. Carefully undraping his arm around her, he sat up, and she moved a little before turning on her side and going off to sleep again. Manik couldn't help but smile at the innocence her sleeping face portrayed. Lying and leaning a little, he kissed her chubby cheek, and she smiled in her sleep. Dropping a kiss on her forhead, Manik stood up, and walked out, to freshen up.

An hour later, he walked down the stairs, and at the same time, Nandini walked out of her room, running a finger through her damp hairs, and somehow in a messy moment, lost in her sea of thoughts, she was about to bump into him, when Manik held her by her shoulders and helped her stand on her feet.
For two seconds everything else stilled. Nandini had never thought it would be true, the fact the everything else fades around when your eyes meet with that one person, but it did. She couldn't feel or see anything other than him, and even Manik was lost in her black eyes, that were shining like stars, in a sky full of wonders.
Nandini blinked, she was still in a daze. Had it been a dream, him coming to her yesterday night? Was she imagining it all? The confusion swam in her eyes, as she intently looked at Manik, who jerked her closer reading her eyes.
"Yesterday night, was not a dream, Nandini!", His morning voice was husky, and he had leaned a little to whisper in her ears, owing to their height difference. Nandini felt goosebumps all over her body, at his words.
