Chapter 6: First day of School

Wicked's P.O.V

As I looked up I saw Vlad walking with Henry and the new guy, he didn't exactly look happy from the looks of it. I raised an eyebrow as we walked over, but as we do I notice the twins started to hide behind me as they looked at the boy. He looked like Henry so I was guessing they were related, I was getting a bad vibe from him, however. It was as if something was really off...the way he looked at Vlad as well scared me too. I keep it together as I walked with the family towards the 3 as I called out to Vlad and Henry.

"Vlad! Henry! Morning you two!", I smiled and waved.

"Well if it isn't Wicked herself?" Henry playfully smiled as he offered to hug me. "ahh and the twins are finally out of their cave I see" He grinned.

The twin wolves smile as they tackle-hugged him to death, they have always liked  Henry since he was always friendly with children. To this day I sometimes believed that he is a child whisperer. As I look up Vlad caught my eyes as I caught his beautiful ocean blues, it makes my heart skip a beat as I walk over and hugged him tightly.

"Hey Vlad" I whispered to him

"Hey Wicked" he whispered and hugged back. His hug was more of an embrace if anything but of course I didn't mind it, as long as I was close to him I was happy. Must be a protector thing.

"So is this your girlfriend?" The newcomer asked.

I looked over as I slowly ended the hug, there was another boy there with us. He had some of the same features just like Henry and I got the feeling that they were related to each other. He was particularly glancing at Vlad a lot, however, I never knew why but he never took his eye off him. So as I got my composer back I grabbed and hugged Vlad's arm.

"Um is anyone going to introduce me to the new guy?" I responded back

Vlad took notice as a streak of blush grows across his face.

"O-Oh um well Wick this is Henry's cousin Joss, apparently, he moved in with Henry and just transfer to our school" Vlad answered me.

I glance at Joss, though something felt very OFF about him, at first I couldn't tell but I've noticed his necklace a minute, the markings and symbol on it which made my heart drop and my worries to concerns. I knew what that meant, what made me more concerned was that I didn't think Henry or Vlad knew what that meant, however. I tried to think of a way to warn them but soon the twins grabbed and hugged around my legs as I jumped a bit. When I looked down at them they glared a Joss with a look that made it look like he was a monster or a disgusting creature. I could tell just from that that he was not to be trusted. Joss too notice how the boys were acting too and my heart dropped if he actually knew about what we all are.

Once we made it to the school grounds I told the others I was going to take the twins to the school next over to ours called Bathory Middle. Luckily, Isic and JB know where to wait for me as I left to go take the twins to school. When we got there I notice all the kids around there were pretty active and excited, most of them huddle into groups happy to see one another. I looked down at the twins and they seem lost and scared, Dally wears light clothes and always has this "colorful" personality while his brother is cute as ever shy bean who looks like he's about to wet his pants. I smile and kneel down to them as I tried to comfort them.

"Hey what's wrong Dally? You look like ur going to faint here." I asked.

"I-I don't want to go inside, can't we just stay at home?" Dally said shyly as he trembled.

I couldn't help but hold him as I stroked his head and I rock him back in forth.

"I know you're scared bud but you got your brother with you plus you have nothing to fear, our schools are like right next to each other so after school, I can pick you up." I reassure him.

"I-I know b-b-but..." Dally stuttered as he clings to me.

I could sense that since they're from a different realm and having to deal with this many humans is can be quite uneasy for them to adjust. Especially for Dally since he's the shy one out of the two. So I brought Dally to the side of the entrance of his new school and held him close in my arms just like when they were little.

"You remember when I first found you guys? You spoke broken English and trying to understand you were the hardest thing for me to deal with? Even then you two learn to accept who and what I was in the end and entrusted me and grandpa you're being your guardians." Dally smiles as in his eyes he remembers the days when his newfound journey began with us.

"O-Oldman Dorian was scary though...but less scary now....", Dally said quietly.

"Then this should be a piece of cake, this is all new to you I understand that. But part of the journey is to give life a chance at what it gives you. And you got this you furball~" I said as I ruffle his hair, he giggled and finally smiled confidently as he stands up with his bag on his shoulders.

"Thank you Wicked, t-that really helped," he says as he hugs me in response, I soon hugged back smiling at my achievement.

"No problem, now knock them the dead at school yeah? Just NOT literally ok?" I said worried, he chuckled and nodded as he runs over to his brother and they both walk inside to head to their classroom.

I stood at the entrance as I watch them go feeling that "big sister mode" kick in with joyous. I soon walked over to the other part of the school that was meant for high schoolers. If there was one thing I was grateful about, it's that I'm grateful the twins didn't have to go here with me and the others just yet. Hopefully, in elementary this will be a walk in the park for them to have an understanding of the human society in this world, especially in the town of Bathory. As I walked up to the school I see JB, Isic, Henry and of course, Vlad waiting for me. Vlad smiled warmly leaning off against the wall as I walk up to the signing.

"You guy ready to suffer the beginning of our new high school life?" I asked.

Vlad and Henry laughed while Isic and JB were on the nervous side. Soon Vlad spoke up for the group.

"Well with our group this big now than it was back in 8th Grade I'm sure we can handle ANYTHING now right?", he looks over at Henry as he grins.

"Let's rock and roll", Henry said as he puts on these black shades acting all cool while walking. JB and Isic soon followed while Vlad and I followed from behind without hands nearly touching, but remembering what my grandpa said all we could do was nearly touch our hands to one another. Enough so it wouldn't be too obvious to most of the people staring at us.

As we walk, we had all eyes on us and could feel the firey stings from our mutual bullies' gazes as we walked to our homeroom classroom. It was just the first day of school and we were already being eyed by EVERYONE, what's the worse that can happen?
