Friend Kiss

Sapphire POV

I leaned over her. She didn't see me, I can't believe I was going to do that. I laid back down. I hate myself sometimes. I sighed,
"What's wrong Sapphy?"
She opened her eyes and sat up. She patted my head.
I smiled for a second, then it faded.
"Nothing."

Ruby took me to school. She walked with me to all of my classes, turns out she's in some of my classes.

It was finally the end of the day. Pearl was coming to pick me up today, so I had to miss Ruby's Practice. Pearl honked at me so I snuck in a quick kiss on the cheek. And ran off
"Ruby?"
"What about her?"
"You like her"
"NO!"
"You just kissed her, Look at her she's still there blushing"
I looked at her and smiled. She was kind of cute. But I don't like her like that. We are just friends.
"Just as a friend, a friendly kiss"

" Ok then, I have to pick up Sabina from the airport, wanna come?"
"No thanks, I'm not Sabina's.. Favorite"
"Okay then."
Lapis was in her waitress outfit walking on the side of the road, I would've told Pear but she was drinking and you don't want to mess with Lapis when she's drunk. Pearl dropped me off at my house around 4 I opened my apartment door to find a my apartment trashed, Pictures were broken, Empty bottles were everywhere, my walls were covered in eggs and graffiti,
'Diamond are coming Sapphy'
Did Ruby do this? She couldn't have had time to make all of this mess, Only Ruby calls me that. The diamond symbols are everywhere. I ran downstairs to the main lobby. I called Peridot.
"What's wrong Sapphire I'm in the middle of a class here."
"Sorry"
I hung up. Lapis was off somewhere drunk. Pearl was at the airport. Ruby and Amethyst are at practice. I ran outside sat on the bench, And cried.
After My parents... Went away, that was my only home. For what reason? I got up after they tripped me? I wiped my tears. And called Ruby. She didn't Answer. Of course not she was in practice. "Oh shit" The Diamonds pulled into the parking lot. I speed walked away from the front of the building,
"Hey,"
I felt a tap on my back. Yellow Diamond.

I tried to run but Yellow stopped me by grabbing my shirt.
"Look what I caught!"
He let go and flew to the ground making a large grunting noise.
"Ruby!"
Ruby was standing behind him panting, Blue and Pink took their brother who was now coughing horrendously on the ground and lifted him up and ran to their car.
"Ruby how did you know!?"
"Peridot called me telling me you seemed distressed on the phone"
"Ruby, you're amazing!"
"I know," she flexed her arm.
She swung me around and threw me in the air. She was amazing, not even pearl made me this happy.
"Sapphire I,"
She put me down.
"I wanted to tell you something, I wanted to tell you something at the diner,"
"What is it Ruby?"
"I..um"
"I'm gay"
"Ruby you know I already know that."
"So I wanted to know if you could maybe," She started crying. I wiped her tear as she did to me before.
"I want to go on a date with you." She said. She smiled.
" Of course."
Peridot ran over to us, "What'd I miss!"
She was panting. She opened her fanny pack and breathed her medication it and held her breath for a few seconds, then let it out.
" Nothing." Ruby smiled at me. I smiled back.
"ARE YOU KIDDING ME! I RAN ALL THE WAY OVER HERE AND ALL FOR NOTHING!?"
" Sorry Peri" Ruby said.
"Ughh" she limped away.
"Well?.."
"Well..?"
"See ya later Sapphy."
She blew a kiss I chuckled.
I didn't want to tell her about my house she already had enough to worry about, the upcoming game, The Diamonds.
I would hate to make her clean up the mess.

It was finally Friday, the date. I ended up sleeping at Pearl's house. We didn't have school that day because of some meeting. " I wanted to tell Ruby about the Diamonds and My parents not that we were dating, right? Or is this just a friend date? I don't know what to do I have so much to think of right now I just.. can keep hiding these things. I need tell someone the truth. Ruby was really understanding even though I've only known her for a month now. I need to talk to her. I can't wait for the date. I picked up my phone, dialed her number. " Ruby, we need to talk about my parents"
