"Sir, the boat's taking a lot of water!"

The first mate, Jimmy, screamed as the huge waves struck the boat relentlessly.

"Get the water out of this boat or we'll go under!" Replied Arthur, the captain of the small fishing vessel.

The ship was fishing in the Pacific Ocean hundreds of miles from any known shore. It was near midnight so the black waves seemed to be pure darkness, attacking the boat without mercy. The vessel was tossed upward and as it hit the water it went below. The cold waves rose over the boat, and crashed into it. The ship was smashed into splinters and all that remained was sea foam where the boat was.

"Jimmy!" Arthur yelled. "Where are you?!" Jimmy was no where to be seen. Arthur continued searching, while clinging to the small piece of wood from the boat. Eventually, he fell asleep and drifted with the current.

He awoke on the beach of a mysterious island, starving and thirsty. Quickly seeing a berry bush, he headed over and began gorging himself on them. Arthur sat by a stream and began drinking from it. The cool water felt refreshing after gulping down sea water for hours. Now with food and water he started thinking.

"Where am I? There's not supposed to be an island for miles. But here one is..."

The island appeared to be very large so he decided to explore it. He walked along the shore, trying to decide whether he should go into the jungle and search for others or remain on the beach, hoping for rescue.

"Arthur..." A voice whispered as he neared a cave.

"Who's there?" Arthur shouted in fear. He edged closer to the cave's entrance but backed away quickly. He returned to where he started on the beach as soon as the sun began to set.

He scavenged for food and ate anything he could. He lay down and tried to sleep but a thought kept nagging at the back of his mind.

"Who was that and how did they know my name?"

He stayed awake for hours, filled with worry and terror. Eventually his tired body had to rest and he fell asleep.

A loud screech pierced the night. Arthur sat up immediately, and looked around but could see nothing in sight. He looked up and saw the moon was at its peak in the sky. His mind instantly filled with thoughts of what creature made that noise, as he had never heard a sound like that. His body tugged at his mind to rest and eventually sleep overtook him.
