The school day seemed to go by rather slowly for everyone gathering all their work and papers for prepping for the school year. Since it was Senior year for Butters, he was having to make sure that he was getting things ready for his life after high school. Butters slowly walked into the choir room as he smiled talking with the group of kids there. He was happy to see all of them again as he started to do a few stretches not sure if the teacher would want to do a dance routine to warm up. As he was laughing a woman with long red hair pulled back in a braid walked into the room. "Good morning everyone!" she called out as the class turned. "Morning Ms. Luther!" they all said back as they went to move towards their spots. "Oh no no no...we are going to be trying something new this year. I want to make sure you all had taken good care of your voices over the summer. We are going to the stairwell and since. Remember what I had taught you all..if you can sing normally and it echos in the stairwell then I know you can sing loud!" she said rather excited.

Everyone looked around at each other as they started to remember the assignment that she had asked of them for the summer. The 16 students slowly made their way to the stairwell as she looked at each student, "Alright...remember last year I had asked you all to pick a song that was different from your vocal range and sing it. I know all of you had practiced during the year to make sure that you all could do it now it's time to put it to the test," she said. The students drew in a long breaths as they all started their warm ups making sure they were ready then each student started their songs.

Kenny yawned out looking down at his notes as he finally looked up towards the clock. Uhg...just a little longer Ken and then you get lunch with Butters and the rest of classes are with him... he thought to himself. He heard footsteps as he turned looking at the door confused seeing some students hurrying past. He raised his hand asking to be excused for the bathroom then got up and walked out. He looked where people were going as he heard whispers of people trying to keep others quiet. He pushed his way through the people as some left to make sure they didn't get in trouble. He looked up the stairwell seeing a group of people as he slowly made his way up to the landing looking up the next set of stairs.

He watched a particular blonde moved slightly so that his hands were on the railing and his back to Kenny. "I-I don't know if I practiced enough for the song..." Butters's voice echoed softly.

"Well what was the artist that you drew out?" a female's voice asked.

"Well...J-Josh T-turner...he has a deep voice and I know I tried but it may be an octave higher then what he sings..."

"Well Leo, remember what I have always said.."

"Y-you never know until you try..." Butters answered as he drew in a long deep breath. He started to tap his foot as he took a moment to remember the words before he started to sing.

There's a long black train
Coming down the line
Feeding off the souls that are lost and crying
Tails of sin only evil remains
Watch out brother for that long Black Train

Look to the heavens

You can look to the skies
You can find redemption
Staring back into your eyes
There is protection and there is
Peace the same burn in your ticket for that
Long Black Train'cause there's victory in the lord I say

Victory in the lord
Cling to the father and his holy name
And don't go riding on that long Black Train

Kenny's jaw slowly dropped as he listened to Butters singing as he felt his heart start to beat fast. He bit at his lip some as his wings slowly opened from under his coat and appeared slowly. One was a orange and white feathered wing while the other was a black with orange devil like bat wing. His eyes seemed to dilate slowly as he was in a full trance listening to the smaller blond sing.

There's an engineer on that long black train

Making you wonder if your ride is worth the pain

He's just a waitin on your heart to say
Let me ride on that long black train but you know there's victory in The Lord I say
Victory in The Lord

Cling to the father and His holy name
And don't go riding on that long Black Train

Well I can hear the whistle from a mile away

It sounds so good
But I must stay away

That train is a beauty making everybody stare
But its only destination is the middle of nowhere

But you know there's victory in The Lord I say

Victory in The Lord
Cling to the father and His holy name
And don't go riding on that long Black Train said cling to the father and His holy name and don't go ridin on that black train
Yes watch out brother for that long black train
The devil's a ridin' that long black train.

When the song came to an end he seemed to finally snap out of the trance when he heard clapping from the group above him. Butters let out a deep breath as he got a lot of praise from everyone saying how well he did. One of the girls in the class pointed down on the landing as he turned then slowly looked down. His baby blue eyes locked onto the electric blue eyes of the other dark blond male. He blushed slightly as he gave a small wave, Kenny returned it then rushed down the stairs and out of the stairwell.

Kenny panted slightly as he looked back seeing his wings open as he shook his head pulling them back into his back as he leaned against the wall for a moment. He felt his heart still beating fast as he bit his lip. "I-I guess that's my sign..." he whispered before heading back to class.

((I have not forgotten about this story, Now that I have a few more ideas I know what to write! Also the song is a personal favorite of mine and I can see Butters singing it in an octave higher then the low voice he sings. If you have any ideas of what Butters could sing then drop me one, I know he will be singing a several other times in this! Love you all!!))
