Kate {Vampire Diaries}

Chapter 5

"Before I go in the others are on their way. Should I have not called them?" Klaus asked trying to be brave. Kate sighs and turns to him.

"Call them now and say not to come." Kate says before turning back to the boys, "I will see you tomorrow if I can." Kate says as a tear started to roll down her cheek. Before she could do anything about it, both boys noticed it. Kate turned and ran into the house. Once Klaus heard the door slam he ran to the noise. Once he got there, Kate was on the ground crying her eyes out. He raced to her and cradled her in his arms.

"Get him out of my house. Whatever you do to him, make sure it's slow and painful. Make it last forever." Kate manage to get out.

"Honey, who are you talking about?" Klaus asked still puzzled on what was happening. Kate untangled herself from his arms and stood up. As she was standing up Klaus stood up with her.

"Follow me, there is someone you should meet." Kate said walking over to the stairs going down to the basement. As they walked down the stairs Klaus began to hear all the things Jamie was whispering. Klaus looked over to Kate confused on what was happening.

"Who is in there?" Klaus asked as they neared the door. Kate looked over at him and told him the same things she told the brothers.

"Want to meet him or what is your plan?" Kate asked unsure of what was going to happen next. Klaus pulled her into a hug.

"I'll make it last even if it means turning him. He will pay for all the has done and has said. Do you want someone to stay with you tonight?" Klaus asked looking at her. Kate looked up and him and smiled.

"I'd rather be alone tonight but you're more than welcome to take him tonight." Kate said before pulling away and opening the door. All he did was nod. Klaus walked up to him and broke the chains. Klaus threw him over his shoulder and as they were walking out of the room, Jamie scratched Kate. Klaus dropped him so fast he knocked out. Klaus ran over to Kate checking the scratch.

"Are you okay? Why isn't it healing already?" Klaus asked concerned and confused.

"I'm not fully vampire so it will take a day or two for it to heal. If you are worried that someone will think something of this," Kate pointed at the scratch on her face. "I won't go to school or out of house if you don't want." Kate said with a small smile. Klaus returned the smile.

"Stay home so then I know where you are." Klaus said with a smile. Kate went over to Jamie and cut his cheek to get blood. Then ripping a piece of her shirt to wipe up the blood.

"I never really like this shirt. Now I have a sample of his blood. So if you need any help give me a call." Kate says turning to Klaus. He nods and smiles.

"You're my speed dial. All I have to do is type one and then it's calling." Klaus said trying to stall. He didn't want to leave Kate alone.

"I know how speed dial works. You should get him out of here before he wakes up and has to be put down again." Kate said laughing while walking up the stairs. Klaus picked him up and followed after quickly. Once they were at the car, he opened the trunk and put Jamie in. Kate was laughing behind him and that's when he saw the flash of light. He turned around quickly and looked at her confused.

"I had to take a picture. It was too funny." Kate said almost falling to the ground in laughter. He started laughing too. Klaus got in his car and he before pulling away he watched Kate go inside. Once inside she ran up stairs and plopped onto her bed, falling into a deep sleep.

The next morning, Kate woke up to someone knocking at the front door. That's when she heard yelling from outside.
