It was getting pretty close to my birthday after some time and I couldn't wait to get my first birthday present. I kept telling my grandma about things the other children at school had like Pokémon cards and all the other stuff that was popular back then.
My younger sister who was just a baby when the parent incidents happened was now four and my older brother who was already living with my grandma before I was, was now ten. When my birthday finally came It was like waking up on Christmas.
I got a pair of cool new Nike shoes and some Pokémon cards just like I'd wanted. Although it was a Jigglypuff, a Metapod, Magikarp and two Pidgeys I can't thank her enough for that day. Every night I would have dreams about my parents wondering where they were and stuff. Little did I know they were on their way to pick me up.
