Chapter 17

Zonnique

Me : Tori slow down!!

Tori : What hospital Keke??

Keke : Th-the one downtown.

I looked at Tori push the gas pedal more. Running through all the stop signs. Thank God no police were around. I looked at Tori like she was crazy for a minute.

Tori : Stop looking at me like that Zonnique.

Me : Stop driving like you being chased by the police!! You passed the stop signs already! And one traffic light!

She rolled her eyes and kept speeding. When we got there, Tori ran with Keke behind her. I caught up with them at the desk inside.

Keke : Rayan Lopez?

Nurse : *checks chart* He's in the ICU getting ready for surgery.

Keke : Oh my God.

Tori : Is he gonna be alright?        

Nurse : We don't know yet ma'am. We gotta see if he survives through surgery.

Tori : If he survives!? Where he got shot at?

Nurse : It says his chest and stomach.

Keke almost feel out from what she said. I grabbed her and sat her down. I then told her to call everybody and then went to Tori.

Me : Tori come sit down.

Tori was frozen. I just grabbed her by the waist and pulled her to a chair.

An hour passed and everybody was here then. Waiting on how Ray was. Keke looked horrible. Like her whole world's been crushed. I looked at Tori and she lost her best friend. When actually, Ray is her best friend. Almost blood she told me before. I gave her a hug. She pulled me from my seat and sat me on her lap burying her face in my neck. I sighed and rubbed her back for a while. 

?? : Rayan Lopez?

When we heard that name, we all stood up. I seen the doctor covered in blotches of blood. He pulled his mask down and gave us a serious look.

Doctor : We just rolled him out of surgery. He's stable.

I heard a crowd of sighs of relief. Well that's good so far.

Tori : What else?

Doctor : Well, the bullet that was in his stomach almost hit an organ. And the one in his chest was two centimeters from his heart.

I felt Tori's grip on my waist tighten. I know she was pissed then. I placed my hand over hers. She looked at me then took a deep breath.

Keke : Can we see him?

Doctor : You can. He's recovering right now so, please one at a time.

We nodded then thanked the doctor. I looked at Keke and gave her a smile.

Me : Go first Keke.

Keke : *smiles and hugs me* Thanks Zonnique.

I told her welcome then she went to the room. The rest of us sat down and waited for Keke.

Tori

Nia : Tori Ray wanna see you next.

I nodded and gently put Zonnique in the next chair. She fell asleep a while ago. I wouldn't blame her in a way but I couldn't sleep. Not until I seen my bro.

When I got to the room I knocked then opened it. I seen Ray on his phone. When he saw me he smiled.

Ray : Hey.

Me : Hey man. How ya feeling?

Ray : Like I just got back from hell.

I laughed and sat next to him. He placed his phone down and looked at me. I looked at him then looked at the big bandage around his torso and a patch on his chest. That made me mad then.

Me : Who did this to you?

Ray : I'm not telling you.

Me : It's Issa ain't it? He did it didn't he?

Ray sighed and looked at me. I waited on an answer. He then nodded his head saying yes. I knew it.

Me : Ima kill this bitch.

Ray : No you ain't Victoria.

Me : And why the fuck not?

Ray : Cause you get mad to damn quick and then wanna go after the nigga that did this to me. This is every damn time when one of us is hurt!  You think I wanna see you in this bed next? Hell no.

Me : I don't give a damn if I'm next in that bed or my grave Ray. I made a damn promise and vow to myself that I won't let shit happen to y'all. And if something happens, I'm gonna get y'all revenge whether you like it or not! My brother got shot, my trap house is shot up almost killing me, and now you got shot. I'm not having this shit no more!

Ray then was quiet. I was damn near to crying. I never cry in front of nobody. Not my crew. Not even my own Momma.

Ray : Tori I hear ya. I just don't want you hurt iight. You like my sister man.

Me : Ray I've been in a lot of shit like this.

Ray : And those times you either got shot, stabbed, or framed. I don't wanna go back down that road.

Me : You don't gotta.

Ray : What you mean by that?

I just got up and walked to the door. Ray was calling me but I ignored him until he called my whole name.

Ray : Victoria Denise Robinson what the fuck you mean!?

I smirked and looked at Ray. He had a worried face on. I walked back to his bed and kissed his head.

Me : It means Ima handle this myself.

After that I left ignoring him calling me. No matter what he or what anybody say, Ima get my revenge no matter what.
