Chapter Six

I was getting seriously angry. I was hurting badly but, they had no right to beat me. Stacey lunged at me and tackled me down to the ground. She started beating on my face I just felt myself tearing up and anger building up inside me. Next thing I knew Stacey and her two friends backed away. “So the nerd shows her true colors.”

I didn’t understand what she was saying. Now I saw three wolves infront of my eyes. A tan wolf and guessing that it was Stacey because she was up front growling at me. The brown and gray wolf, were probably who two friends. They lunged at me so I lunged at them knowing that I’m human there was no way to win. When I noticed a puddle and I looked down at myself and saw a beautiful snow white wolf looking back at me. I started to freak out and Stacey and her friends stopped in their tracks.   They transformed back, “What’s wrong loser shocked you’re an ugly ass wolf?” I didn’t say anything I looked at her and whimpered. “If you don’t want to fight me whatever, I’ll kick your ass another time.”

With that she walked away from me. I was scared walking on four paws was hard. I could smell things I normally couldn’t. I decided to mind call Andrew because I was seriously freaking out. ‘Andrew, Andrew I need you come quickly please!’ I practically screamed to him. ‘What’s wrong, where are you?’ ‘I’m in the woods behind the school, come quick.’  

A few minutes later I saw Andrew walk towards me. He changed into his black night wolf and started growling at me. ‘Meloney, sweetie where are? Who is this wolf?’ He sounded confused. ‘Andrew, that’s what I was trying to get you down here for. That snow white wolf….’ ‘Yea. Who is that and where are you?’ He was concerned for me and it touched my heart. ‘Andrew that wolf is me.’ He quickly stopped growling and came over to me.  

He licked my nose and started rubbing his head against mine. ‘So this wolf I just wolf kissed is you?’ He sounded shocked and happy. ‘Yes, it is. Now can you tell me how to change back. PLEASE!!’ He nodded. ‘Just think about being human. Once you have enough practice you can change whenever you want.’ He shifted back and came to me. I closed my eyes and started thinking of being human again and when I opened my eyes I knew I was human again, well sorta.   He looked at me shocked at what he just saw. “You’re a shifter?” He wasn’t sure of what he saw. “I guess I don’t really know.”

We went to my house to figure out how this is possible. Apparently when you first shift it burns when you turn and then doesn’t burn again after that. It didn’t burn so I was slightly confused. “Andrew?” “Yea, what’s wrong do you still feel a burning sensation?” He looked at me worriedly. “That’s the thing I didn’t feel any burn whatsoever. I don’t think that’s possible considering I never turned into a wolf before.”  

“Well, you might not remember, usually you take your first transformation at 10 years old.” He said matter-of-factly. “But, I hardly remember anything from when I was ten, my dad died in a car accident.” I held my tears in thinking about it. Andrew gave me a sad expression, “Meloney, I’m sorry I didn’t know but, I think you knew you were a wolf but forgot because of what had happened. “ I looked at him and guessed that it was possible.

We arrived at my house and saw the kitchen light was on. Guessing mom was home cooking dinner. We came in and when my mom saw Andrew she had a worried look on her face. “Karen?” Andrew asked giving my mom a curious look. “Andrew, dear how have you been?” “Good, how about you I haven’t seen you since you left with the Wild Thorns pack.” “I’m good.” I looked at both of them curiously and confused on what just happened. “Oh, Meloney I know your mom from the Wild Thorns and my pack the RipTide. I was still confused.  

“Okay dear I guess it’s time you heard the truth even though I wanted to keep you away. First of all your father and I are shifters as well. When he died, he died from a rival pack attack, known as the Wild Ones pack. I didn’t want you to go through that as well. I am still Luna of the pack and you are the future Luna of the Wild Thorn. When you found your mate I would hand down the pack to your mate. I was hoping you wouldn’t find him but, I guess I was a little late. Some of the members of wild thorn go to your school and all my friends are part of the pack. We never told you because we wanted to protect you from the rival pack.”   

I was shocked that she knew and she never told me. “MOM!!! YOU KNEW THIS WHOLE TIME AND NEVER BOTHERED TO TELL ME!!!!!!!!!!” I screamed at her. “Meloney I’m sorry I knew it wasn’t right to keep it from you but I swear I was going to tell you as soon as you turned eighteen.” She had a soft expression on her face. But, I was so furious. I felt to arms wrap around my waist and instantly I felt calm. ‘Thanks, Andrew.’ ‘No problem beautiful.’ I looked back towards my mom. “So if Andrew is my mate does that mean he will run both packs?”  

“Well if he wants our pack then yes. Meloney I’m sorry I didn’t tell you but I was afraid after so long how you would react. You practically wished you weren’t a shifter when your father died. So I blurred your memory of when your ten and younger trying to help you forget who you were. But, the past eventually caught up to me.” I looked at her sad expression and instantly I felt bad. “No mom. I’m sorry I shouldn’t have freaked out I know you were only doing this to protect me. But, I wish you could have told me sooner.” Giving her a disappointed look. She went up to me and gave me a long hug before kissing my cheek. I saw tears flowing down her face.  

“Well….I guess you guys need to talk so I’ll be going now.”Andrew said a little bit uncomfortable. “Not uh pretty boy you are staying here.” He sighed. I walked back to my mom and gave her smile, “Mom, this is Andrew soon to be Alpha of the RipTide pack and he is my mate.” I said proudly to her. She went along with it, “Well, it’s nice to see I can leave my daughter in good hands. Of course you better treat her right or I will personally hunt you down and rip your head off your body.” She was saying this and keeping a calm look at the same time.

Andrew looked at her full of surprise and a little fear. “Mom, why is Andrew afraid of you right now?” “Well, that’s because I’m a Luna, I have alpha blood he isn’t alpha yet so he still has to bow down to his elders. In fact sweety let me tell you something.” She pulled me closer to her. “I can already guess that you can use mind link now try it with me. ‘Mom?’ ‘Yes, good job sweety. Here is a little fun fact. The Luna may be the Alpha’s mate but she has more control over the Alpha so she basically runs the pack. The Alpha can’t do anything to oppose you.’ She winked at me. I gave my mom a devilish smile.  

“What? What did she say?” Andrew was curious about the conversation we just had. “Don’t worry, Andrew it’s nothing.” He shrugged his shoulders and looked towards my mom seriously. “Kar-I mean Ms. Adams without knowing she was your daughter I claimed her as my mate and we well you know did it.” . He blushed while saying this, I thought it was the cutest thing. “If I had know she was your daughter I would talked to you first for that I am extremely sorry.” “Andrew, it’s alright I don’t mind if it was you. You were such a good boy back then and still are. I trust you with her.” With this his face lite up.

"Well now that you know the truth I guess it's time i call the pack to a meeting. I know you have met them but don't remeber them we have about half the pack as last time." I nodded knowing that everyone remembered me but i didn't remember them. "It's fine mom i just want to meet them and get to know them a little as i will be the future Luna of this pack." She nodded her head in approval.
