As I walked up to the bus stop I thought to myself, 'This year will be better. I will be sure to smile more and be more open... .'

Hi, my name is Hannah Marie Jones, I come from a small town in Vermont called Vershire. I am 17 years old. My mom died last year in a drunk driving incident. My dad has blamed me ever since. He's never home. He's always somewhere getting drunk so I have a part-time job to pay the bills. I have very few friends and I am Ok with that because the ones I have are the best you could ever ask for. And look right on time. . .

"Hey, Jacob!" I said to one of my best friends. Jacob has been my friend since 1st grade. He's one of those people that will stand by you no matter what, but will tell you if your idea is stupid.

"Hey, Hannah!" He said running to me with his arms wide open. He hugs me every morning. I think it is because my mom died, or maybe it is because we are like siblings. As he hugged me I felt pressure on my lungs. Oh, I forgot to mention that he is the captain of the football team.

"J-j-Jacob! I-i can't B-breathe!"

"Sorry." He said as he let go of me. "How have you been?" To be honest I wish people would stop asking that. I'm not fine, having a dead mother and alcoholic father is not what I call being fine.

"I've been fine. You?" I lie. I do that a lot. . . I know I said that I would be more open but now is not the time. I meant it is the first day of Senior year. Who would want to ruin that? Ok, maybe I'm just making excuses.

"I've been good. Other than the fact that Jayson tried to get the coach to make him captain. Then coach made me prove that I was good enough to stay in my position." Ahh, Jayson the schools famous player. He has slept with all of the cheerleaders, but I'm not one of them so I wouldn't know. I hate gossip.

When the bus pulls up we get on looking for our spot, but it seems to be taken by a Greek god. . . Oh goodness, save me.

"Go, sit there and I'll sit with Frank. Plus this might be a good way for you to get a boyfriend." Oh yeah, I've never had a boyfriend, like ever. And both of my friends think I need one. Why do I need a boyfriend? I've got good friends. I've got my romance novels to keep me busy.

I was about to fight back when I looked behind me and saw he was already sitting.

"Can I sit here?" I ask. When he looks up I swear I felt like I was going to drop dead. He had emerald green eyes and dark brown curly hair that was slightly messy from him running his hand through it. He looked so hot. He nodded slightly and I sat down. When I was sitting down I took out my Moto Z2 play and I put on my music while taking a better look at him through the corner of my eye.

He was wearing a plain white v-neck with a black leather jacket over it and dark blue jeans. I guess he noticed because he smirked. I could feel the blood rushing to my cheeks as I quickly looked away and he chuckled. He frickin chuckled and it was the hottest thing ever. My face grew even hotter, if that was even possible.

I don't think I can survive this bus ride. . .

When I got off the bus, I saw my best friends and I ran right over to them.

"Hey, Hannah." Macy, my other best friend, said to me when I got over to them. Macy was the captain of the softball team. She is friendly, caring, and straightforward. She has been my friend since 4th grade so not as long as Jacob but still a very long time. I couldn't ask for any better friends than who I have right now.

"So. . . how was it, sitting next to the hot guy?" Jacob asked with a smug look on his face. Does he think my embarrassment is funny? Macy's head shot in my direction. Man, if that was any faster she would have gotten whiplash.

She stared at me with an intense gaze and with her eyes she was asking me to spill the beans. So, of course, now I had to tell her....

"Well. . . so, Jacob and I were getting on the bus, and you know how we always sit in the very last set? Well that set was taken by this new kid that looked like a FREAKING GOD and Jacob told me to sit there because I need a boyfriend and what-not. So, he went to sit with Frank. I asked him if I could sit there and he nodded so I sat and then listened to music for the rest of the ride."

She stared at me with this 'aww' look. "YOU DIDN'T MAKE A MOVE!" She said in tone sounding like she wanted to yell, but we were in the hallway. Why would I make a move on someone I don't even know? That makes no sense at all.

"Why would I do that?" I asked her as the bell rang. So she didn't get a chance to answer. I walked over to my classroom and sat at the window set in the very back and everyone else came in. But after the kids filed in, there was only one seat left and that was next to me. Oh yeah I'm basically the nerd here and no one sits by me except for my friends. And with my luck, they weren't in any of my classes this year.

The last bell was about to ring when the 6' 2" greek god walked in. Who turned out to be, the boy from the bus. He looks at me I quickly look away as my cheeks burn. He walks my way and sits in the chair next to me. I know it is the last chair left but why does he have to be in my class all year? Life isn't fair.

When the teacher starts speaking I begin taking notes. I feel his eyes on me which causes my blush to not disappear, so I quickly cover the side of my face with some of my hair which earns me a laugh from him.

As I went to all of my classes during the day I found out that the busboy and I had all the same classes together. Surprisingly throughout the day, I didn't find out his name.

This is going to be a fun year. Note my sarcasm.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
