Marvin
"With a man." Trina grumbled walking off.
"Dad," Jason's tiny voice croaked out, "What- Is this for real?"
I swallowed hard. Jason's face had a mix of shock and disappointment, "I- I uh..." I could barely get words out, "What you have to understand is-"
"You cheated on my mom..?"
"Yeah but..-"
Jason shook his head, cutting me off, "Why?"
"Kid," I shifted uncomfortably leaning against the counter, "The thing is-" Jason looked up at me with big glassy eyes, "I don't love your mother.. I mean I do of course, just.. not in that way. I can't love her in that way."
Jason's face shifted and he walked out into the other room, shaking his head.
"Jason-"
"I gotta get to school, dad." He said the word dad with a sharp sound to it. His voice could cut like a dagger and his eyes were set in a sharp glare. He walked out slamming the door causing me to jump a bit.
God he probably hates me. My son totally hates me.

Trina locked herself into her room. She paced back and forth angrily. There's no way this is happening. This is not real. God- Why is this happening?
Trina eyed the blue carnations planted in the window box of their room. Those damn blue carnations. Even when Marvin started distancing himself from her she'd always wear them in her hair to symbolize their "love" for eachother. She eyed a vase with one in it and smashed it onto the ground.
God, may he step on this glass.
How could he? Trina fell to her knees and sobbed. If he'd have just told her sooner then maybe- maybe things could work out differently. One thing was for sure, Trina wanted a divorce. She needed a third party person, someone who wasn't involved.
Trina didn't have too many friends. Her best friend just slept with her husband so she couldn't really ask for help there. Maybe Marvin's psychiatrist though. Trina had only met him once or twice at temple but he seemed nice enough.
And let's be real, who else could she go to?
Trina pushed herself off the ground and dragged her feet over to the phone. She dialed in the number and a man answered after about two rings.
"You've reached Mendel Weisenbachfeld?" He spoke. His voice was soft but he said his name like it was a question.
"Mendel? This is Trina, Marvin's wife?"
"Oh- Uh.. hello? What's going on?"
"I want to get a divorce but I need a third party person there to oversee it and stuff. Marvin he- he's gay."
"Oh-That's awful but Trina, I don't think I can.."
"Please? You're my only hope." Trina said her voice wavering with desperation.
"Yeah.. well I guess I can.." Mendel said.
"Okay great, I guess I'll see you soon." Trina said, trying to sound hopeful.
"Yeah-" Mendel said, sounding slightly concerned and disinterested all at once, "I'll see you soon."
Trina hung up the phone.

I can't say I was surprised at the fact that Trina was divorcing Marvin. He always talked about how bored he was with her and it was always quite clear that he wasn't the straightest. It was only a matter of time before the truth came out, before he came out.
Marvin had been my patient for the past three or so years. It was safe to say that I had known him for quite some time. Marvin was the kind of guy who treasured his image above almost all else. He had been convinced by several people in his youth that it is wrong to be with a man and that had stuck with him throughout the years to a certain extent.
Mendel felt bad for him but he could also be a huge asshole. He refused help from anyone and just expected everyone to know exactly what he was thinking. He wanted everything done for him and if it wasn't he got mad. Very mad.
Marvin was foolish, impulsive, and angry. He had little patience and needs someone who can tell him when he's being an asshole: So not Trina.
Trina, from my understanding, is almost the opposite of Marvin. She's the type to hold herself back as to not anger those around her. They apparently were forced to marry at a rather young age because she had gotten pregnant. She never really had too much time as an individual, she went from daughter to wife before she could learn to be her.
Maybe that's an over analysis.
Maybe not.
Then again it's my job to over analyze.

The day went on and it was around noon. Mendel and Trina decided he should come while Jason was at school so he showed up at about one in the afternoon. A gentle knock was heard from the door and Marvin walked over and answered it.
"Mendel? What- How the hell did you get my address?" Marvin asked in surprise.
"Uhh, Hi Marvin- Trina invited me.. for the....you know," Mendel said being greeted with a confused expression to show that Marvin clearly did not know.
"The divorce thing?" Mendel said in a hushed tone. Marvin's eyes widened and his eyebrows raised, this was the first he was hearing of this.
Trina's voice entered the room, "Marvin I just-"
"What the hell?" Marvin said, whipping around to face her.
