Chapter 5

-ASHLEYS POV-

I stormed towards the table anxious to hear what Harry had to say about the Caroline incident but I only found Carolines face attached to Harrys.

I immediately ran outside of the restaraunt, thankfully Harry didn't see because his face was too busy eating Caroline.

I guess he was a player and Niall was right.

-HARRYS POV-

I pulled Caroline away from my face.

"Caroline what the bloody hell was that? I told you, its over!" I said raising my tone.

"you don't really mean that Haz!" she said. I hated when she called me Haz!

"YES, YES I DO CAROLINE! I like someone else, and thats why I'm here so could you just leave me and her alone?" I asked pushing her away.

"oh..you mean her?" Caroline asked pointing out the window showing Ashley outside in the pouring rain looking like a lost puppy.

I shot up out of my seat leaving $100 on the table and running outside.

"ASHLEY! ASHLEY!" I yelled trying to find her. after searching for a while I finally found her.

"Ashley why'd you leave?" I asked caressing her face in my hands.

"you told me you weren't a player..and I thought I started to fancy you also..but then I saw you snogging with Caroline..and I just lost every feeling I ever had" she spoke, her mascara smearing down her face giving her raccoon eyes.

but that didn't matter, she still looked beautiful as ever.

"she kissed me, out of no where! but I told her it was over. for good." I said but she pulled her face out of my hands, making me re-place her chin in my hands.

I leaned down slowly so our foreheads were resting on each other. her eyes were closed.

"just let me prove to you...let me love you...give me a chance" I said but before she could answer I leaned down colliding our lips. 

it wasn't full of need. it was just a kiss. but it meant so much more to me, and I hope it did the same to her. 

I pulled away trying to read her expression..

"I....I'm sorry I had to do that.." I said

she nodded awkwardly and I took her back home.

the car ride was extremely awkward, but once we got home..it got worse.

I unlocked the door and all 3 boys, except Niall, were standing there with Andrea to the side.

they had their arms folded across their chest.

"what?" I asked with a confused expression across my face, Ashley had the same look on her face.

"explain this" Liam said pointing to his computer screen that had a picture of me and Ashley kissing in the rain. it looked, as some fans would say, 'tumblr perfect'

"shit" I heard Ashley whisper quietly before pushing through the boys.

whats going on tonight...

-ASHLEYS POV-

Niall......I guess he saw the picture..

I walked to Niall's room and knocked on his door..no answer.. I just let myself in to find a sad leprechaun laying on his stomach with his face hidden in his pillow.

"Niall....I think its best if I find my own place to stay" I said, my voice cracking at the end, I felt a lump in my throat. I couldn't cry. not here.

"what?! why!" he asked raising his head up.

"well...I don't wanna be stuck in this.....revolving circle of Niall then Harry then Niall then Harry. I think if I left we would all get time to think." I said feeling my eyes tear up, I held my tears back and watched them pour out of Niall.

"I like you Ashley. but so does Harry and everyone knows he always gets the girl so, there goes any chances I had of being with you" he mumbled.

I laughed, not the funny laugh, the rude laugh.

I was getting pissed.

"did you ever think maybe I dont wanna be with either of you?!" I said rudely he looked hurt by my words but I couldn't stop them from coming out of my mouth.

I ran out of his room and downstairs ignoring everyones calls and I ran to the backyard to the side of the house under a tree where I knew no one would come.

I let out all my tears.

All my 12 years worth of tears.

It must've been a few hours of me crying so I decided to pull myself together. I stayed sitting down in a pile of leaves, the rain had died down.

I started humming my mums favourite song. Bless The Broken Road by Rascal Flatts she would sing it to me when I was having a bad day, or she was having a bad day.

"I set out on a narrow way many years ago

Hoping I would find true love along the broken road

But I got lost a time or two

Wiped my brow and kept pushing through

I couldn't see how every sign pointed straight to you" I sang, but I wasn't the only one.

I looked up and saw Niall singing with me.

"wha-what are you doing out here?" I asked looking down and playing with the leaves.

"I always come out here when I want to get away from everything" he said taking a seat next to me I just kept quiet. I didn't want to talk.

"if you wanna leave then go ahead but I want you to know that I will always be here for you, I really do like you Ashley..please don't go" he said. I closed my eyes holding the tears in.

"its okay to cry..' he said quietly.

"no...its not...crying means I'm not strong. and I am." I said shutting my eyes even tighter.

"no...crying means you've been strong for too long.." he said putting his arm around my shoulder.

-NIALLS POV-

right when I put my arm around her shoulder, her head fell into my lap and she started sobbing.. I hated seeing her like this....it hurt me..

"babe why don't we go inside..clean you up..and watch some movies or something?" I asked rubbing her hair. she nodded and sniffled wiping away her tears.

"thank you Niall" she said kissing me on the cheek.

"for what?" I asked, thank god it was dark outside. I must've looked like a potato from how much I was blushing.

"for letting me cry onto you.." she said standing up and walking to the house.

if she was crying that much, Harry must've already hurt her because once we walked inside everyone was sprawled out on the couch staring at Ashley and I.

she looked Harry straight in the eye and walked past him to go to the bathroom, I quickly followed.

"did harry hurt you?" I whispered so only she could hear.

she nodded slowly.

"I knew it.....bastard" I mumbled under my breath.

I helped her clean her face and then we spent the night watching movies. she sat as far away from Harry and I as possible...

maybe liking her was a bad idea..
