Arianna felt to warm, the cave around her had heated up even more. Sitting up and groaning, she slowly pushed the hood down and then the rest of the robe. Looking around she came face to face with the muzzle of a dragon. Blinking, then blinking again She looked and opened her mouth to scream but he cut her off. "Don't scream human, and I won't hurt you." The girl closed her mouth and stared wide eyed at the Dragon. She had seen dragons when she was younger and traveling the country side with her father, but none of the ones she saw were this big.
"What are you doing in my cave?" He asked her narrowing his large eyes. "I'm sorry....I was trying to get away." She told him lowering her head. "And what are you running from?" He asked lowering his head to the ground. "My step mother and sisters." The large Dragon just watched her. This girl was telling no lie. "Well I will find you food." He got up and walked out leaving Arianna alone.
The Dragon opened his large wings and flapped them a few times and lifted into the air. Rising up he looked around for anything a human could eat. But then his thoughts went back to the girl. Her soft looking black hair and bright green eyes that he wanted to get lost in. Shaking his massive head as if to shake that thought out, he found a herd of deer and swooped down grabbing two and crushing their necks. Flying back to the cave, he landed and walked in with his kill in his large clawed and scaly hand. Setting them on fire so they could cook, he skinned them and pulled the meat off.
Arianna watched the Dragon. "What's your name?" She asked. The Dragon froze for a moment that said, "Aregon." Arianna gave a small smile. "I'm Arianna." Looking up at him he was staring at her then quickly looked away. She sighed softly to herself. A large chunk of deer meet was set at her feet while the Dragon ate his own fill. Eating the warm deer meat she found it to be really good. Moaning at the warm meat in her mouth She didn't realize that Aregon was watching her. He turned away again before she could look up at him.
A few minutes went by and the cave was quiet except for water dripping near the back. "There is a pool in the back if you want to clean up." Aregon told her. She stood up on shaky legs and stood for a few minutes trying to regain her balance. She headed off into the direction of the dripping water. Ducking her head to make sure she didn't hit the archway, she gasped at what she saw. Moonlight shone down on a very large pool. Large enough to fit Aregon and still have tons of room. "Wow." She whispered. Quickly stripping herself She dipped into the surprisingly warm water.
"Are you ok?" Aregon asked. "I'm fine. This is wonderful. Thank you." Aregon let a small smile grace his large scaly muzzle. Then as quick as it came it was gone. He was starting to like the human and that was a big no no for dragons. The elders have said in the past When he was young at 100 year's old that befriending a human was a bad thing and that they only wanted dragons for their hides, teeth and claws. Aregon would kick the small girl out as soon as possible But his inner Dragon was telling him not to.
Arianna got out of the pool and found some warm towels. What a dragon would be needing towels was confusing for her. Quickly getting re dressed, She made her way back. His back was to her and she started to feel tired. "Sleep human." He said in a deeper voice. Arianna was confused why he didn't use her name. But before she could think more of it, she fell into a deep sleep.
