At precisely 7:50 AM, Don Anders, principal of Ollisway High School, was standing guard in the library, eyes glued fervently to the doors in anticipation of eight students. With his hands folded behind his back, he paced the room, circling around the six tables twice and sauntering down the ramps anxiously. Malicious his thoughts were as he awaited their arrival, glancing to his watch continuously.

The list of victims was in his clutch, crinkled in his tight grip. Eight names were on the list, some new to this dreadful procedure and some more accustomed than anyone. Although several students placed in this consequential detention were utterly new to the process, Mr. Anders felt no sympathy and was indeed aiming for prevail among the teenagers. Detention was nothing but torture, and once the delinquents arrive what he has planned for them towers in comparison to the detention any other teacher ever gives. He knows where he stands, or at least where he imagines himself standing, and intends on sharing this illusion with every one of his underling, whether they be willing to this self-imposed acclamation or forced.

Mr. Anders was obsessed with domination over others, feeling himself entitled to condescend to those he concludes as inferior. So naturally, high school students would come into play; they could be insubordinate, notoriously distinct, credulous. He wanted a following of belittled persons whom think down upon themselves, due to his compulsive superiority aggression. Mr. Anders wants on top, nothing else, and undoubtedly he plans to convert every student who dares to cross him as one of his minions.

As Sheridan Moon stumbled into the library on the ugly morning of March 23rd, she noted mentally to herself to not speak with the infamous punks confined in the custody of Principal Anders. Stories of Saturday detentions are constantly buzzing and she knows of the famed criminals constantly sitting among the students of Ollisway High, making a promise to herself to not converse with them and consequently inherit their attitudes. Sheridan's currently not even on the social radar, which is something she prays this little punishment won't contribute to. Being known among her friends as a troublemaker is enough, but being introduced to the school as one is something she'd rather not encounter.

Eyes wide, Sheridan gulped and sat down at the second table of the second row. She settled in, slipping her backpack off her shoulders and setting it on the floor beside her while pulling the sleeves of her hoodie over her knuckles. She leaned against the table, shoulders slouched over and elbows bent so her hands could support her head. Her breathing was heavy, chest rising uncontrollably, a pile of strained tension forming deep in her throat. All she could feel was Mr. Anders's glare on her, his nefarious control over her shadowing her dignity.

Sheridan could just imagine the fun her friends must be having, without her. As she sits in detention, alone and incredibly nervous, waiting for her cellmates to clamber through the doors, all of her friends - Julie from Physics, Gabe from Calculus, Natalie from AP History - were gearing up in costume for larping in the park. She was meant to be Empress Zora of the underworld, instead she takes the role as Grumble Lockward the peasant. This was a major step back for her, a weight she can no longer fathom for its gravity overpowers her. This unruly detention scandal already earned her a reputation among the Computer Lab nerds; just imagine the catastrophic repercussions she'll find to have occurred once she returns to the larping field next weekend. Going from ruler of the underworld to scum of the village won't be the only punishment she'll have to face.

Avoiding all eye contact with Mr. Anders, Sheridan bit her lip and glanced towards the clock, checking to see if time really was frozen as that is what it had felt. 7:56.
