I begin to cry. "My name is Kio." I say. I curl up on my bed in the corner. Karli and Jaycee (my cat and dog) both curl up next to me for comfort. What would I do now? They can't really be dead, right? This must be some sick joke... Right? It has to be... Please no... It's a lie. It's a lie. It's a lie.
I don't know how long I sat there before I felt someone slide their arm around me and pull me into their embrace. I couldn't help myself and that just made me sob more. I grabbed onto the shirt of my captor and clung for dear life. I am surprised that my dog is not barking, or my cat hissing... they normally do that with people they have never smelled before.
I open my eyes to see that my savior is Tk, with Cameron sitting near me as well. "I am sorry. Tk, Cameron, I am sorry." They both grinned as if they understood.
"If you are about to tell us that you are a girl, we already know. We are sorry that you couldn't be with your family, but feel blessed that God left you with us. You are our best friend Kio, and we will all live together soon." Tk and Cameron took turns to say those things to me. They were not just sweet nothings... they were sweet everythings.
I ask how they found out I was a girl and why they never said anything. "It's simple. You cried in front of us and don't mind, and you sometimes slipped into girl talk." Tk explained this to me. I nodded in agreement. That didn't explain why though...
"And we never said anything because we liked the way that things were. You were happy and so were we. We didn't care what gender you were. You were our best friend." Cameron said this so sincerely that I threw my arms around him and hugged him.
"You guys are the best!" Even after the complete tragedy that has occured in my home today, the three of us still managed some happiness. "Let's go find a place to live." I hooked up Jaycee on a leash and carried Karli in my arms. Baby and Georgie (my birds) were both placed in a cardboard box with holes for now since the cage was too big to take. I threw some clothes into a bag and off we went to find our new home.

We arrived in a city called Gurnee. It looked nice and had pretty scenery in some places. We walked to a home retailer who then helped us to find what we wanted. I wanted animals, Tk wanted a kitchen, and Cameron wanted a pool. Together, that wasn't a hard request so we found many choices.
We decided to take the third house we were shown. It was actually a big house with a very large yard, though not a farm. It was surprisingly the cheepest house on the entire market in Gurnee and we soon found out why. It needed a few renovations, but nothing the three of us couldn't handle over the course of a year or so. The fridge and stove and oven worked, there was a pool, and there was no reason not to have any animals, so we said yes.
There was just one thing missing... Furniture. There were no beds and only one room large enough to be the bedroom. we all took a spot on the floor in that large room as soon as we had paid for the house. None of us had gotten any sleep so we were all dead tired. "Goodnight" we all said. "Goodnight" we all answered. And that was the best worst day of my life. Or so I thought...
