AS Eddie watched Alex leave, the bell rang, startling him. He immediately ran to class and sat in his seat. His science teacher, Mr. Pool walked in and ranted about his car not working right and not getting paid enough to buy a new one, when someone knocked on the door. The class just sat there staring at the door when Mr. pool opened it and someone with a long black cloak walked in and gave him an envelope. He then said that she was a new student who had just moved here. He whispered something to her and she took off her hood and turned towards the class. Even though he only met her once, Eddie would recognize that face, those glasses. anywhere, anytime.
"Hi, I'm Alex Lovegood, and I just moved here from California." She said.
after she introduced herself to the class, she sat down in the only seat available, next to Eddie. Alex pulled her hood over her head and took out a sketchbook and a dark red marker. She began writing and showed Eddie. it said,"Meet me at the lockers at lunch?" and Eddie gave her a thumbs up and looked back at the whiteboard.
At lunch, Eddie went to his locker and sure enough, Alex was there. He knew she was there but she startled him because she was wearing her hood and blended perfectly in with the wall. As soon as she saw him, she took off the cloak.
"Why were you wearing that," Eddie asked
"It's like my secret cover so no one knows it's me."She replied.
"What do you..."
"It's none of your business, I just brought you here to tell you something, not to play 20 questions or something," She said seriously "Just stop talking and it will make sense, I hope"
ok" Eddie replied
"So anyway, I moved here because my parents, if you can call them that, thought it would be safer"
"but"
"Yeah I already know about the clown incident, but that's beside the point. They thought it would be safer because of who knows what. And they are dangerous, my parents, so maybe just don't ever mention about them in conversations. They will find out. Trust me."
As she finished, she ran her fingers through her hair and as she did, Eddie noticed blood on her wrists, yes, both of them. They looked like they had been cut or held really tight around.
"Did your parents do that?" Eddie asked, clearly worried now.
"Like I said, none of your business" Alex said.
But Eddie was still worried. worried she was in trouble. Deep, deep trouble.
