The days were suddenly passing slower and slower. Alex hadn't shown up at school for about two weeks and Eddie was sure it had something to do with the shoe store. As Eddie thought he could not go another day without her, Someone knocked on the door. Mr. pool noticed and opened it. This time, he handed Alex an envelope. She nodded and took a seat. Eddie kept looking at her to see if she would look at him, but their eyes never met. He felt like he had done something wrong, but couldn't think of a thing. when the bell rang for second period, Eddie tried to grab her wrists but failed. After that, he ran as fast as he could and jumped on her. She fell with him and He tried to pin her down but she was stronger than him, so she flipped him over and pinned him to the ground and said,"It's none of your business."
"Yes. It. Is." Eddie retorted, hoping she would tell him. That was when he noticed she had a black eye and a red mark on her cheek. when she stood up, she pushed him to the ground again and he saw her slightly limping.
After school, Eddie found Alex easily and grabbed onto her wrist.
"What do you want kid," She said to him as if she was older than him.
"I want to know why you have a black eye, a limp, and bloody wrists," he said.
"do you really want to know?" she asked
"Yes."
"Alright, let's start from the beginning." She said as she took his hand and led him down the street to the abandoned shoe store. Eddie was completely unaware of what he might see and what might scar him forever.
