Chapter 26: Too Little Too Late

So they all stay and hang out with Jake and his family more and listen to his new song overnight. After they all finish listening to the song Melanie and her sisters say goodbye and goodnight and Jake walks them out to Melanie's car. Jake says so I'll see you tomorrow. Melanie says yes I'll see you then and Jake goes back inside and Melanie drives off and goes back to her house once Melanie arrives in the driveway they all get out and run to unlock the front door after they unlocked the front door they all go inside and Melanie relocks the front door and they all go to bed. It's now 9 o'clock in the morning and Melanie is awake getting ready for her date with Jake. Mackenzie wakes up and goes into Melanie's room and helps her get ready. Melanie says you going to be okay while me and Marissa are gone on our dates? Mackenzie says yeah i'll be fine I just can't wait till we are all hanging out tonight. Melanie says okay and thanks for helping me get ready. Mackenzie says no problem and leaves Melanie's room to go back in her own room. Melanie sees that Jake texted her saying

From: Jake<3

Good morning baby. I will be there in about 30 minutes for our date. I hope you are ready for an eventful date today.

To: Jake<3

From: Melbear<3

Good morning. Okay I will see you then and yes I am already for our eventual date you have planned for today.

Marissa wakes up and goes and sees Melanie and sees that she's ready for her date with Jake. Marissa says you look good Melanie I hope it all goes well and is just like how it felt before when you went on dates. Melanie says yeah I hope so and you have fun today with Trevor. Marissa says okay I'll see you tonight. Jake arrives at Melanie's and he knocks on the door and Mackenzie and Marissa run and open it. Mackenzie and Marissa say Mel you date is here. Melanie comes down the stairs and thanks them both. Melanie says thank you Kenzie and Rissa you can go back to what you were doing i'll see you both tonight. Jake says what's tonight. Mackenzie says we all are going out tonight you can come too if you like. Jake says alright I guess i'll see you and Marissa later. Marissa says yes bye Jake and Melanie have fun. Jake and Melanie just walk out and get into Jake's car. Jake says you are ready for a whole eventful date till I have to take you back to get ready for tonight. Melanie says yes and you won't have to take me back we can just meet them at the place tonight. Jake says are you sure? Melanie says yes I already planned this all out. Jake says okay and he drives off to the location of their date.

Meanwhile with Jesse and Paige. Paige says so why bowling? Jesse says we went bowling on our first date where you actually admitted you liked me forever and that you were just waiting for me to realize it. Paige says yeah did I not mention how much I sucked at bowling and while you were taking your turn and everyone else was taking theres I was over playing the arcade games? Jesse says I already know you suck at bowling and that you only came for the arcade games but I had to pay for at least one bowling game so please just play one game and then we can play all the arcade games you want. Paige says fine. They started playing there one bowling game and then they finished and started to play all arcade games. Once they were done they went home.

In the meantime. Emma and Michael. Emma says open mic night. Michael says yes you said you always wanted to go to an open mic night so here we are. Emma says you remember and paid attention to what I say? Michael says yes even if it looks like i'm not paying attention I really am paying attention. Emma says yeah I can see that now and thank you for paying attention to it all. Michael says no problem beautiful. They just sit and enjoy open mic night. Then they went home.

Concurrently with Brooklyn and Chase. Brooklyn says you decided to go to a play with me? Chase says yes because you have been to all my music things even though you love music just as much as I do I also know you love your drama. Brooklyn says yes but you didn't have to do this for me we could have done something we both liked instead. Chase says Brooklyn whatever you care for and like is what I will care for and like to relationships are about compromise babe. Brooklyn says okay and they go and enjoy the play. Then they went home.

I don't remember if I mentioned any of this before but Chase, Brooklyn, Emma, Michael, Paige, and Jesse all live together. They are all friends so that's why they all decided to get a place together if I never mentioned it before.

Meanwhile with Jake and Melanie. Jake pulls up to the place they went on their first date. Melanie says you remembered the exact place you took me on our first date? Jake says yes because you've been wanting to go back to it since the first time I took you. Melanie says okay you can't really blame me this place is amazing. Jake says you have a point there. Melanie says always do. Jake says yeah. Melanie says come on I want to have all the fun we had the last time. Jake says alright. Their first date happened at the Santa Monica Pier. Melanie has been always wanting to go back so that's why Jake took her and they literally spent the whole day there having fun and joking around till they got the text from Mackenzie and Marissa to meet them at this club. Melanie and Jake leave the Pier and arrive at the club and see her sister's already there having a blast. Melanie says Mackenzie deserves this after Sam breaks up with her. Jake says Sam broke up with Mackenzie? When? Melanie says last night they had too many arguments. Jake says well that was a stupid decision. Melanie says it's Sam I didn't expect anything more. They walk over to Mackenzie and Marissa. Mackenzie and Marissa say Hi Melanie and Jake. Jake and Melanie say Hi. Marissa says so did you see Sam and his new girlfriend? Melanie says no I wasn't paying attention nor did I notice him. Mackenzie says he's probably off hiding now I saw them and I ignored him and walked away but I would like you too meet me new friend. Melanie says okay and Mackenzie starts dragging her over to a boy. Mackenzie says Melanie this is Brent. Brent this is my sister Melanie. Brent says Hi, it's nice to meet you. I actually watch some of your videos on youtube. Melanie says it's nice to meet you too Brent just treat my sister good she just went through a break up with someone and they are seeing someone already. Brent says I plan to treat her good as soon as I get to know her and everything. Melanie says good i'm glad I should probably get back to my hopefully boyfriend again I don't know yet but that's what i'm hoping also Sam's walking over here with an angry look on his face and i'm not staying for that one. Mackenzie says you and Jake have fun. I'll handle him Mel I got no problem handling him. Melanie turns around and walks back to Jake and hears its just a little too late playing and she thinks to herself ironic for Mackenzie right now.

In the meantime with Mackenzie, Brent, and Sam. Sam gets up to Mackenzie and says so who's the new guy? Brent says I'm Brent i'm a friend of Mackenzie's you are? Mackenzie says he's a no one and he will be walking away right now. Sam yells just because I got a new girlfriend doesn't mean you can act like a slut with a new guy in front of me. Mackenzie says excuse me i'm not acting like anything I'm dancing and talking. I'm having a good time. Melanie, Marissa, and Jake are staring at them and Melanie is close to moving from her spot in front of Jake to go over there and give him a piece of her mind but Jake's holding her waist so she doesn't move and do just that. Sam says yeah you're having fun by acting like a slut with a new guy. Brent says walk away Sam and leave Kenzie alone she's not a slut. You have no say in what she's doing when you dumped her yesterday and got with a new girl the same day. Mackenzie says yeah he's right and it's just a little too late a little to wrong and I can't wait. I'm moving on now just like you so bye. Mackenzie and Brent walk away from him and go to Jake, Marissa, and Melanie.

So this chapter has gotten intense and has shown you all the other couples in the book that I don't show a lot except for Trevor and Marissa. Trevor and Marissa actually didn't get shown in this chapter because Chapter 27 is going to show Trevor and Marissa friend anniversary. You will see a lot of Melanie and Jake in that chapter. There's going to be drama in Chapter 27 because someone decided to start a rumor about Melanie. Were you guys surprised at how Mackenzie handle the situation with Sam? What do you think of Brent so far? Also do you like how Melanie and Jake are almost back together? Just wait you love the last two chapters of this book.
