It was still dark outside when we left the hotel. Since none of the clothes I brought from home were good enough to wear to interview, I borrowed clothes from my very, very fashionable step-sister.

I, not being the fashionista type, tried finding the most subdued outfit she owned. I decided on a pair of light wash skinny jeans, a tan lace tank-top, a blue blazer, blue pumps, and a white scarf. Lou, being obsessed with doing hair, found the need to put loose waves in my hair. She also put a little makeup on me before she decided we were allowed to leave the room.

“Aren’t we getting breakfast?” Niall groans from the seat in front of me. I was sitting next to Lou and Lux in the last row of this four row van.

”After the interview you can,” Paul Higgins, the boys’ manager, says.

He continues to sulk the whole way to the station, until finally Liam shut him up by buying him a Twix from the vending machine in the building.

“And now everyone, as promised, here is One Direction!” the host, Margaret Thatcher, announces with a smile.

The whole crowd burst into applause, young girls begin screaming, and I just can’t help but grin.

Once the applause dies down, Margaret begins questioning the boys. Most of the questions are relating to how their tour is coming, their personal lives, and talk about a second album.

I begin to not pay attention as much as Lou and I begin talking. Just catching up, really. I tell her about school and my life back at home, and she tells me of life with the boys and traveling.

But one thing the interview asks really catches my attention.

“We all noticed a very beautiful girl backstage. Is she one of your girlfriends?” she asks, addressing Harry and Niall, who are both single. Zayn, Louis, and Liam all apparently have very lovely girlfriends.

”Oh, you mean Amber!” Harry smiles. “She is quite beautiful, isn’t she? But no, she’s not one of our girlfriends,” he adds.

I can’t help but blush. “She’s actually the step-sister of our hairdresser, Lou Teasdale,” Niall elaborates.

“Is she just a fan of you boys, and decided to come and meet you?” she questions.

I get nervous. How are they going to explain that I hate my mother and decided to live with my step sister?

“Actually, she’s decided to stay with us for a bit since she’s on holiday. Just for fun, you know? We thought I’d be fun since we heard loads about her,” Liam cuts in, thinking on his feet.

I exhale a huge breath of relief. He kept my situation a secret, so I wouldn’t have any explaining to do. The only unfortunate part is that my mother now knows I’m with Lou, and she’ll be contacting Lou’s father so she can get to me.

The interview comes to a close and the boys all exit the stage. Instantly, they come over to me.

“Hello, love, enjoy the show?” Louis grins.

”It was cool,” I shrug.

“Was it amazing?” Harry bumps shoulders with me.

“It was an interview, nothing special,” I shrug again.

“Hey, Lou! Are you heading back over to the room?” Niall asks, walking over to us, Liam right behind him.

“Yeah, I’m tired, and so is Lux,” she sighs. “Why?”

“Niall probably wants food,” Zayn says, laughing at the blonde one.

”It’s eight o’clock, I’ve been up for hours, and I still haven’t eaten! This is a crisis!”
