Siege of Split

Ashley's POV
Today I had to wake up in 7 am because of one thing. School. God I really hate being there. It's bad enough to be abused whole day by your classmates but the teachers aswell. I'm just glad my best friend Jess is with me. Me and her have been best friends since childhood. She was there for me when I needer it the most. I quickly put my clothes on, put some eyeliner and brushed my hair. I managed to grab a quick snack befoee heading to the bus station.
Jess: Hi Ashley.
Ashley: Jess!*hugs her*
Jess:*hugs back* I missed you so much.
Ashley: Same. How was the family trip?
Jess: It was really good. We visited Washington and stayed there for a few days.
Ashley: Sounds nice.
Jess: What about you?
Ashley: The ordinary.
Jess: I see. Well we better head in the bus. I want to catch up with you during class.
Ashley: Sounds like a plan.
It could b said that i influenced on Jess a bit. She has the same hair like me just it's dyed purple and is a few inches taller taller than me. We listen to the same music, have the same style and love the same movies. I would be lost without her.
We entered our classroom on our first subject. Math. I don't like that subject at all and neither does Jess.
Teacher: Alright class today we are going to start with geometry.
Ashley: Ah man.
Jess: Here comes hell.
Teacher: First lesson will be-
Principal:*enters the classroom*
Class:*stands up*
Teacher:  Is something wrong?
Principal: Have you heard the news?
Teacher: What news?
Principal: Do you have a TV here?
Teacher: Yes.*turns it on*
Reporter: Breaking news the Serbian army has attacked Croatia a few hours ago.
Ashley: W-What?
Reporter: Our reporters say that the following cities on that are located in Dalmatia Split, Solin, Sinj as three others cities that are out of that region including Šibenik, Zadar and Omiš are being heavily bombarded.
Jess:*eyes widden*
Reporter: Rumours are spreading that casulties in Split are estimaded over a thousand.
Ashley: N-No
Jess:*sobs*
Reporter: While Croatia has been suprise attacked by Serbian soldiers alongside  Bulgarian mercenaries NATO doesn't want to help in the case at all.
Boy: That isn't fair.
Girl: Hasn't Croatia suffered enough.
Reporter: We will  inform about the details later.
Teacher: So the new war has begun.
Principal: Not only that but these news have been circling around America non stop. There is no program you turn on that isn't broadcasting this tragedy.
The worst fear that my mother has came to reality. Those crimes that have been comited in the previous war will be far worse than before.

*few hours ago*
Marko's POV
I was having lunch with my family. My family consists of my mother, father and two sisters. First sisters name is Antea. She is 10 years old and she trains judo. She is one of the most sucessfull fighters of her age. The other sisters name is Gabriela. She is only 4 years old. Despite that she hasn't talked yet. The reason why was when she was 1 year old she was diagnosed with blood cancer. Having that she was 6 moths in the hospital receiving radiations and a lot of syringes to heal her. Thankfully she survived it but doctors suspect that she has autism. The only question we can ask is will it be a minor or a heavy type of autism. While we were eating our table started to shake.
Antea: Mom what is going on?
Mom: I'm not sure.
Right after that a bomb was heard going off.
Dad: GET DOWN!
We all got down to the floor and the radio has been blasting our house.
Reporter: Breaking news we are under attack by Serbia. All males fit for war report to the barracks right now. If we don't act quickly we will lose our city.
Marko:*runs to the barracks*
Private Darko: COME ON PEOPLE! GRAB YOUR GUNS AND HEAD OUT! MOVE IT! MOVE IT!
I managed to grab an M70 an old Yugolavian automatic rifle.
When we were all armed we were sent to a small defense point.
Serbian captain: KILL EVERYONE IN YOUR PATH! NO MERCY!
Private Darko: FIRE!!!
We opened fire at the assaulting Serbian army. As much as we managed to kill a few of them they were all soldiers who had experience with weapons and what we had? Probaly a thousand soldiers, about a few hundred policeman and civilians.
As the battle waged on the Serbians were pinning us down.
Private Darko: FALL BACK TO THE SECOND LINE!
Marko:*falls back*
Edi:*gets shot in the leg* AGH!*falls on the ground*
Marko:*stops and runs to him* Come on don't give up.*helps him up and they run to the second line*
Private Darko: JUMP ON THE GROUND!
As we jumped down the Browing M2 unleashed it's fury on the attacking Serbian army. But onky for a moment it stopped.
Private Darko: RUN! NOW! PROVIDE THEM WITH COVERING FIRE!
Marko:*runs with Edi to the stone wall and takes cover behind it* We need a medic.
Medic:*runs to Edi and nurses his leg*
Marko:*shoots at the Serbians*
M-84:*aims gun at them*
Private Darko: TANK!
M-84:*shoots at the house near them killing a few soldiers*
Private Darko: BRING AN M79 OSA NOW!
Soldier:*shots the tank with it destroying it*
Private Darko: FALL BACK TO THE THIRD LINE!
We all retreated to the last line where we established a heavy defense with a coupls of machine guns, a few snipers and an anti aircraft gun.
Private Darko: THIS IS OUR LAST STAND! WE WILL FIGHT TO THE END! IF YOU SHOW MERCY THE ENEMY WON'T! SO BROTHERS STAY UNITED! FIGHT TO THE LAST MAN! LET WE SHOW HOW CROATIANS FIGHT!
Croatians soldiers:*cheer*
MIG-21:*guns down the anti-aircraft team*
Private Darko: MIG!
Marko:*jumps on the gun and starts shooting in the air*
Private Darko: DON'T LET THEM KILL THE MAN OPEN FIRE
Marko:*shots down one of the MIGs*
M-84:*aims at the gun*
Private Darko: DESTROY THE TANK! IF HE SHOTS WE ARE DEAD!
Croatian soldiers:*shots the tank with the M79 OSA and destroys it*
Marko:*shoots down another one*
Private Darko: KEEP PROVIDING COVERING FIRE!
Marko:*shoots down the third and the Serbian army starts to run*
Private Darko: VICTORY!
Croatian army:*cheers*
Marko:*yells hapilly*
Private Darko: Alright men gather around.
Marko: What's the status?
Private Darko: As we managed to defend Split few other cities were attacked at the same time as we were.
Marin: And they are?
Private Darko: Omiš and Šibenik have been bombed pretty hard. Solin and Sinj are nearly conquered while Zadar remains heavily pinned down by Serbian soldiers.
Toni: What do you suggest?
Private Darko: Zagreb has seen our city being hit hard so they senr reinforcements but we only have about a 1000 soldiers left. Our best bet would be to rush in Zadar to aid our fellow soldiers.
Alen: You sure we won't be attacked again?
Private Darko: The general informed me that it will take about an hour or so for reinforcements to arrive. Even they try they will be defeated again.
Marko: Who is going to lead the charge?
Private Darko: Brigadier Ante will be leading you guys.
Brigadier Ante: We better head right away the longer we stay here the less the chance Zadar will be able to defeat the enemy.
Marko: Lead the way.
