Ashley: I'm so glad school is over.

Jess: Same.

Ashley: Where do you wanna go?

Jess: How about Starbucks?

Ashley: Sure.

We walked to Starbucks to order our drinks. My mind was still occupied about the war in Croatia. Those people are in such of a hellhole far worse than what I could imagine.

Jess: Hey Ashley.

Ashley: Huh?*looks at her*

Jess: You ok?

Ashley: I'm still thinking about the news.

Jess: About the sudden war?

Ashley:*nods*

Jess: I'm shocked aswell. They never seemed like a nation that would be attacked, at least not now.

Ashley: Yet their enemy used this opportunity really well. Our idiotic president doesn't want to help them at all.

Jess: If we helped them Russia would attack us.

Ashley: I know that Jess but what's more important? To help a nation that will suffer or look after your own sorry ass?

Jess: You do have a point but we can't do nothing.

Ashley: Never thought I would live to see a war happen in this time especially not to Croatia.

Jess: Yeah. I heard stories of the previous war and it was horrifying.

Ashley: My mother was praying that it doesn't happen yet the worst just began. Yet here I am whining about my problems while people in Croatia are in a far worse situation then I am.

Jess: Ashley I-

Axel: Well, well, well. If it isn't Ashley and her friend Jess.

Jess: What do you want Axel?

Axel: Just was wondering why a freak like Ashley is still alive?

Ashley:*silent*

Jess: Why won't just leave her alone?

Axel: Because she is pathetic, idiotic and would be better of dead.

Jess:*stands up* I will claw your fucking eyes out.

Ashley: Jess don't.

Axel: Look at the little bitch. Got the courage to say a few words. Why don't you try to hit me huh?

Jess: Axel I will-

Ashley: I won't because i don't need to mess with dumbasses like you.

Axel: Nice try Ashley but we both know I always win and you end up being more pathetic by the day.*leaves*

Jess: *growls*

Ashley: Jess calm down.

Jess: How do you expect me to calm down when that shithead is talking like that about you?

Ashley: We both know that we can't do nothing. If we get angered then he wins.

Jess: You are right.

Ashley: We better head home. I should probably see if my mom feels ok after these news.

Jess: Yeah.

Me and Jess have walked to our house. Before we headed our ways we hugged each other and went our homes.

Ashley: I'm home.

Mom: Did you hear the news?

Ashley:*nods*

Mom: I can't believe that my fear has come to life.

Ashley: How's Alex?

Mom: It took me a while to calm her down but luckily she's taking a nap now.

Ashley: At least that's a relief.

Mom: The news will soon start. We better hear what's happening there.

Ashley:*nods*

We sat down on the couch as we turned on the TV.

Reporter: Breaking news the attack of Split was sucessfully defeated.

Ashley: YES!

Mom:*smiles*

Reporter: The remaining 1000 soldiers of the 114. Scorpions have marched to Zadar where, alongside the 84. guardian brigade Termites have defeated a larger Serbian army and managed to defend Zadar.

Ashley:*hugs her mom*

Mom:*hugs back*

Reporter: But unfortunatelly Šibenik, Solin, Sinj and Omiš have been captured by the Serbian army alongside the Bulgarian mercenaries.

Ashley: Oh no.

Reporter: This sudden attack on the South have cost Croatia a few of their cities and villages to fall in Serbian control while on the North wave after wave of Serbian soldiers have been defeated by the elite of guardian brigades alongside tank squads, artillery and anti-aircraft. We will inform you about the outcome of the next day tomorrow.

Mom: I'm glad that they aren't going out without a fight.

Ashley: It was impressive of the two brigades that managed to defend two cities at once.

Mom: Those are Croatian soldiers Ashley. They will never surrender. They would rather die than let their country fall.

Ashley: You seem to know about the past war a lot.

Mom: The news were circling around every single program when i was your age. Day after day the news were coming but when Vukovar fell i felt fear.

Ashley: Fear?

Mom: That city was their beacon of hope. You could imagine what the feeling was when the Croatian soldiers found out that it fell.

Ashley: But in the end they still won the war.

Mom: Their hearts were filled with bravery. No matter what happened they were always together and their only goal was to defend their country in which they won.

Ashley: I'm heading to bed.

Mom:*kisses her forehead* Sweet dreams sweety.

I walked to my bedroom and sat on my bed. I can't get that war out of my head. So many innocent people are gonna suffer because of an idiotic ruler. I grabbed a knife that was under my pillow. I stared at it for a moment. I know i shouldn't be doing this but the urge is really strong. I moved my sleeve and looked at my arm. It has been a while since i cut yet those scars are barelly visible. Know one really knows about it because I never really told anyone. I'm just scared that people will judge me which will make my depression even worse. I can feel how my hand is shaking where I'm holding my knife. No today won't be that day. I managed to put the knife away. I changed into my pjamas and layed in bed. I better forget what that asshole told me and just sleep. I closed my eyes and just hoped to dream something good.
