I'm glad
I opened the book
for a glance
was all it took.
I opened
the book of fantasy-
in hopes
to escape reality.
I joined the characters
as they smiled.
I read them grow
from being a child.
I held my breath
as they faced their foes.
I joined them in their
highs and lows.
I cry whenever
they perish.
It was as if I can feel
their anguish.I saw dreams
as high as the sky.
A child who always
wanted to fly.
A beast who wished
to find true love.
A wizard with a broom,
flying above.
There's a yellow road
that's waiting.
A Neverland
if you keep believing.
I found a family
and a brand new friend.
I kept on reading
hoping it'd never end.The story somehow
broke my heart.
The author tore
my soul apart.
How could something
so beautiful...
end in a blink of an eye.
It was finally time
for the reader
to say at least one goodbye.
But as my heart
asked time to heal,
I realized that none of this
was ever real.
It was just some fantasy.
Another book to escape reality.
